Tabelele cu valori ale transmitanei termice liniare () sunt rezultatul unui calcul complex utiliznd mai multe produse software. Pentru fiecare situaie (valoare din fiecare tabel) au fost parcuri urmtorii pai succesivi: 1. Desenarea seciunii transversale prin elementele de construcie dimensiunile de
lucru sunt milimetri, distanele fa de planele de decupare conform C107-3, anexa J (minim 1200 mm de la colurile suprafeelor interioare, minim 800 mm de la conturul exterior al tmplriei). Geometria este salvat n format DXF pentru a fi utilizat n pasul urmtor.
2. Importul geometriei n programul de calcul al transferului termic (Therm 5.2); la import sunt verificate corectitudinea reprezentrii, din punctul de vedere al calculului de element finit (seciunea compus din contururi nchise ce definesc zone distincte, fr a exista suprapuneri sau goluri)
3. Atribuirea materialelor (definite prin valoarea coeficientului de conductivitate termic, ) i precizarea condiiilor de contur (temperaturi interioare / exterioare, coeficieni de schimb superficial de cldur), inclusiv a etichetelor pentru determinarea valorilor coeficienilor de transfer termic (U-factors) pentru segmentele de contur dorite
4. Calculul transferului termic (prin metoda elementului finit), avnd ca rezultat valorile coeficienilor de transfer termic (U-factors); calculul se face prin iteraii succesive pn la atingerea nivelului de precizie prestabilit. Precizia calculului se stabilete pentru fiecare caz n parte ca valoare maxim a erorii pentru totalul energiei implicat n calcul. In tabelul ce urmeaz sunt prezentate valori ale coeficientului de transfer U rezultat i ale valorilor corespunztoare (calculate), pentru mai multe valori ale erorii presetate; dup cum se observ, de cele mai multe ori programul obine o valoare semnificativ mai mic a erorii dect cea presetat.

Dup o analiz a variaiei rezultatelor valorilor ca efect al modificrii nivelului de precizie cerut, innd cont i de faptul c durata de calcul crete exponenial cu creterea preciziei, s-a ales ca valoare convenabil nivelul de eroare de maxim 2% pentru calcul.
5. Este citit valoarea temperaturii superficiale interioare minime (Tsi min) pe ecran, prin deplasarea cursorului n zona unde este ateptat apariia minimei.
6. Pe baza valorilor U determinate prin calculul de transfer termic se determin valorile , prin relaia derivat din C107-3, Anexa J:

curent) Programul Therm calculeaz valorile Utherm i ltherm; lungimea B rezult din desenul seciunii, respectnd convenia msurrii lungimilor punilor termice la faa interioar a elementelor de construcie exterioare, iar rezistenele termice n cmp curent R sunt calculate ntr-un program de calcul tabelar. Intreg calculul este realizat ntr-un program de calcul tabelar (n mod curent Open Office Calc). Fiecrui caz n parte (combinaie de parametri lungime, grosime sau variaie a coeficientului de conductivitate ) i corespunde cte o foaie de calcul separat, iar valorile sunt centralizate ntr-o unic foaie de calcul, unde sunt realizate i graficele de variaie a transmitanei termice liniare () i a temperaturii minime pe suprafaa interioar (tsi min).
In toate cazurile s-a urmrit o sistematizare a cazurilor curente ntlnite, dar i o prezentare unitar n funcie de numai 2 elemente variabile n fiecare tabel. In general, elementele variabile sunt dimensiunea (grosimea) elementului de construcie (introdus pe vertical i fiind reprezentat pe abscisa graficelor) i coefientul de conductivitate al materialului (), introdus pe orizontal i reprezentat n grafice prin curbe distincte. Reprezentrile grafice ale valorilor i ale temperaturilor superficiale interioare minime sunt un element de noutate pentru reglementrile romneti i urmresc s indice tendina de variaie pentru valorile i Tsi min, pentru a facilita determinarea prin interpolare a valorilor pentru cazurile neincluse n tabelele precalculate.
