Australia’s Economic Position in the Region Andrew Charlton
Aug 10, 2015
In his essay Dragon’s Tail: The Lucky Country after China’s Boom, Andrew Charlton discusses the connection between the recent explosion in China’s economic growth and the continued prosperity of Australia. Dragon’s Tail does its best to draw a line between the continued economic growth and prosperity in his home country and the continued economic growth of the China, the world’s fastest growing economy
Australia is in prime position, says Andrew Charlton, to take advantage of the increased wealth the region has recently experienced. Similar industries in both Australia and China have recently celebrated remarkable prosperity and growth, and the progress of both nations is tied together in many ways that can only be enhanced through the strengthening of connections and an increase in trade for many years into the foreseeable future. Charlton views the economic relationship between the two nations as vital to the economic prosperity of both, as well as potentially serving as a glowing economic model for other nations to follow.
