The Customer ID in CBS is called as CIF No (Customer Information File Number). Before creating any account for a Customer, the CIF No is mandatory. The procedure to create the CIF and all types of Accounts like Savings Bank/PJSB/CA, various Term Deposits, CC/OD Accounts, Loan Accounts, etc., is given in the ANNEXURE. The list of products under Deposits and Advances is also given in the ANNEXURE. The parameters to be entered for various products are given at the last, which will be very informative and handy to the staff at the time of opening an account. The software vendor has informed that daily reports are being pushed to all the CBS Branches regularly. If any of the CBS Branches are not receiving the daily reports, inform the same to the IT Department, HO through their respective Regional Offices. The customization of daily reports is under the process and will be completed shortly. Till the CBS software is stabilized, the Branches have to verify the Interest and other charges at the time of closing the accounts. All the CBS Branches are advised not to use the Remittance Module for Inter-Branch remittances like APGB-DD, Syndicate Bank – DD, IBRR. The Branches have to draw the IBRR statements manually and submit to the respective Regional Offices. Please circulate this Circular to all the staff working in the Branch.     The Account opening procedure in CBS is also based on Customer ID concept similar to TBM. The Customer ID in CBS is called as CIF No (Customer Information File Number). Before creating any account for a Customer, the CIF No is mandatory. The procedure to create the CIF and all types of Accounts like Savings Bank/PJSB/CA, various Term Deposits, CC/OD Accounts, Loan Accounts, etc., is given in the ANNEXURE.

    The list of products under Deposits and Advances is also given in the ANNEXURE. The parameters to be entered for various products are given at the last, which will be very informative and handy to the staff at the time of opening an account.

    The software vendor has informed that daily reports are being pushed to all the CBS Branches regularly. If any of the CBS Branches are not receiving the daily reports, inform the same to the IT Department, HO through their respective Regional Offices. The customization of daily reports is under the process and will be completed shortly.

    Till the CBS software is stabilized, the Branches have to verify the Interest and other charges at the time of closing the accounts.

    All the CBS Branches are advised not to use the Remittance Module for Inter-Branch remittances like APGB-DD, Syndicate Bank – DD, IBRR. The Branches have to draw the IBRR statements manually and submit to the respective Regional Offices.

    Please circulate this Circular to all the staff working in the Branch.

    CREATION OF CIF - PERSONAL

    CIF stands for CUSTOMER INFORMATION FILE. It is just like Customer ID in TBM.Important points to remember:

    The fields in aqua marine (green) colour are mandatory. Other fields are optional. First name and last name are mandatory fields. In case, a Customer’s name has only

    one word, such names should be entered against last name and a dot(.) should be entered in the first name field.

    For CIF to be operational it should have minimum 110 points to fulfill the KYC norms. In case, the points are less than 110 points the accounts opened for the CIF will have stop status.

    In this screen, enter the fields asStatus: Active VIP code: Select ‘YES’ for VIP customers only.Customer type : Select the appropriate customer type from the drop down box (For e.g. 010103 - Personal Public Others, 010102 - Personal Staff Member)Title : Mr., Mrs., miss, m/s etc (Select appropriate title code as required).First name : Enter the first name of the customer (Mandatory).Middle Name : Enter the middle name if available.

    Supervisor is advised to Note the generated CIF Number 2299615003936 in the Account opening form. Where: 003 is institution code, 2299615003936 is CIF numberwith check Digit “6”, 00009 is branch code, 007 is makers terminal number and 0000110 is Maker’s teller number.

    Note: for CIF to be operational, it should have minimum 110 KYC points, made up of identity proof (99 points) and proof of address (11 points). If KYC points are less than 110 points, the accounts opened for the CIF will have STOP status . The ID “41: ID acceptable to the Branch Manager” is to be selected only with the Branch Manager’s permission. A register is to be maintained for the ID serial number.

    OPENING OF SB /PJSB/CA ACCOUNT

    IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER: Account segment code and customer type should be compatible with those of CIF. The

    selected combination of all fields like Product, Type etc. are validated against the product parameters set up at CDC and hence an invalid code if entered will generate an error message.

    For Opening Staff SB Accounts, Select Savings Cheque only in Product.Path: Deposits/CC/OD Accounts & ServicesCreateNew Deposit Account

    In this screen enter the CIF of the customer to whom account is to be opened and click on transmit. Next screen appears.

    1st Tabbed Screen Core Options is displayed with name ,Adress,CIF No. and ID No.of the customer.PRESS TAB KEY TO MOVE CURSOR TO THE NEXT FIELD IN ORDERThe fields in the screen are as below.

    Account open date, bkdt int recalc freq : Blank for SB (only for opening back dated accounts especially for TD)Acct sgmt code : Select appropriate option.

    Product : Select required option from the drop down menu (e.g.’10: Savings-chq’ or ’11:Savings-No Chq for SB, select 11:Savings-No Cheque for PJSB, select “CA” for Current Account).

    Type : Select appropriate option e.g’11:General for SB/CA’; ’63:No Frill account for PJSB’.Customer category : Select appropriate option e.g ’1: Public Individual’; ’2: Public others’;

    ’3: Staff individual’; ‘4: Senior Citizen etcLocation/term : Select from drop down (eg. 27-Rural, 25-Semi-Urban, 28-Urban for

    The combination of Product(2 digits), Type(2 digits), Customer Category(1 digit), Location/Term(2 digits) and Currency(1 digit) defines the Product Code. The details of the Product Code and Description are given in ANNEXURE.

    For Nomination details, the respective fields under the Tab Govt./PPF/Cr Card details have to filled up as follows:

    Enter the CIF number of the nominee and nomination required flag as “Y” and click on transmit. A Queue will be generated. Send this Queue for authorization to the checker. After authorization of the Queue, account number will be generated at the bottom of the screen.

    Supervisor is advised to Note the generated Account Number 90000003936 in the Account opening form. Where: 003 is institution code, 90000003936 is Account number with check Digit “6”, 00009 is branch code, 007 is makers terminal number and 0000110 is Maker’s teller number. Note down the account number on the account opening form.

    NOTE: Non-personal SB/CA accounts may be opened in a similar fashion by choosing appropriate field values for a Non personal Customer CIF NO.

    IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER: Account segment code and customer type should be compatible with those of the

    CIF.

    All TD accounts should be funded on the date of opening failing which the account will be closed at the time of EOD.

    JOINT ACCOUNT

    For opening a joining a/c, the steps to be followed are:

    STEP1: Open CIF for all the joint a/c holders.

    STEP2: Open the a/c with the one of the CIFs of the joint a/c holders.

    STEP3: Then link the remaining CIFs to the account opened in step 2 in the following path.

    Step 4: Set the mode of operation to the account as follows.

    Enter the account number in “ACCOUNT NUMBER” field and in the option field select “B: MODE OF OPERATION” from the drop down box and click on transmit.

    In this screen, system shows the modes of operation available with “0” flag against it. Make the flag as “1” against the mode of operation as per the customer mandate and click on transmit.

    Queue will be generated. Authorize the queue.

    STEP 5: Add the authorized signatories of the account in the following path.

    Path: Deposits/CC/OD Accounts & ServicesAmendDeposit/CC/OD Account

    Enter the account number in “ACCOUNT NUMBER” and in the option field select “5: ACCOUNT NAMES” and click on transmit.

    In the second screen, enter the names of authorized signatories in “SHORT ACCOUNT NAME” field separated by commas and click on transmit. A queue will be generated. Authorize the queue.

    We can view the authorized signatories of the account in F7 option
