We have taken note of the discussions held in the Public hearing on the CSR initiatives to becaried in the area.

we would like to take this opportunity to apprise you of the developments in the Rawa oil & gasblock and of our initiatives to support the CSR aciivities in S yanam area.

1. The Rawa oil and gas block is Joint Venture betu,een Vedanta Limited, ONGC, Mdeoconlndustries Limited and Rawa Oil (Singapore) Pte Limiled as mentioned below :

The Produdion Sharing Contract ("Rawa PSC') for Rawa oil and gas field was signed on28 October, 199z1 between the President of lndia, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation LimitedCONGC), Videocon lndustries Limited ('VlL"), Vedanta Limited (ersnvhile Cairn lndiaLimited) ('Vcdanta") and Rawa Oil (Singapore) Re Limited ("ROS). The Current PSCexpires on 27 OctobE,t,2019.

The Rawa PSC has been and continu€s lo be one of the most successful pSCs awardedby the Govemment of lndia ("Gol'), primarily due to lhe sustain€d efiorts made by ONGC,VlL, Vedanta and ROS to explore, develop and produce the petroleum resources contiainedwithin the Rawa Block und6r the guidance of the Management Committee, OiredorateGeneral of Hydrocarbons and the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.

4. Th€ Block has exhibited robust produclion with low operating cost (present OPEX: -US$7/bbD. As compared to its initial estimates of 1fi) mmboe, the Block has faroutperformed the expectations and akeady produced 2$.7MMBBL of crud€ & 356.4BSCFsales gas as on 30/Se/2018, conbiMirE towards the enorgy socurity of the Nation andsaving valuaue foreign exchange.

Effective reservoir management by continuous surveillance and adopting soundongineering prac{io6 has helped in sustaining oil produc{ion, aresting natural declineand achieving close to 50% recovery.

The Block has till dste confibutod approx. US$ 8.67 billion to lhe Govemmentexchequer in the fom of Profit Pertroleum, Royalty and C,ess apart from taxes.

ln addiiion to making efiorts toirards maximizing produc{ion from the Bock, the Rawa JointVenturs has always endeavored lo maintain high slandards in Health Safuty & Environment('HSE') comfliances. The Block operation's sincere commitm€nl tosrards HSE and excellentperformance has help€d in aaming several HSE awards in the past for the Rawa JointVenture.

Cunen y production from Rawe block has declined to -15,000 BOPD due to depletion ofthe fi€ld. ln order to sustain the produclion and to ensure economic feasibility of operations,Rawa W is planning to carry out drilling of 123 Nos of exploratory & d€veloprnent wells(onshore and otrshore) and other associatd faciliths. Tlrce would be carriod out over aperiod of ten lrears for which we have applied for the Environment Clearance (EC) withMOEFCC. The Public Hearing held at S. Yanam Beactr on 11/Octl2018 was part of theprocess for issuance of EC.

We would also lik€ to reiterate that the Rawa JV remains commitled to support communitydevelopr ent wo.k for the local cornmunity. The Rawa W is cunenuy contibuting INR 6.0Cr per year towards development of local community and reac{ed initietives.

INR 5.0 Cr (appx.) is depGited with Dstrict Colleclor to facilitate communitydevelopment work / pIoj€cts. With this number of infrastructur€ projects / works havebeen executed in S. Yanam village and sunounding villagee which inclucb

. Setling up of Potaue water system (storag6 pond, fittration unit, over-head tanks,piping network covering houses)

. Construclion of concrete roads, bridgeso construc{ion of hosfltal building (PHC), ambulanceo lnstallation of 50 solar lights etc.o Provision of mini truck for the colledion & dispoeal of waste as part of 'Swetch

Recently, a 'job mela" was ananged for unemployed youth in Amalapuram and morethan 2,500 unemployed youth participated in this event.

INR 1.0 Cr (appx.) is teing spent by Rawa JV totvards supporting additional toachers invillage schools as per th6 requirement of villag€rs (engaged through contraclors),pension for widows and physically disabled persons (payrnent made to RDO), buspa$es for students from local villages( through RTC), maintenance of RO plants &potable rvater plant- Also, Rawa JV gupporG wornen empoluerment programs, skilldevelopment program for urrmployed youth €{c.

Out of 200 Libraries 50 Libraries Distribuied to Uppalaguptam Mandal andKatrenikona Mandal Schools (Ref: Proceedings No.822lDYSO/Plg.ll2017 Dated: 0$0&2018)

8.3. Providing sports kit3 for all schools is already in progr63. Craaling Basket Ball, VolleyBall and Cricket Pitch along with required sports kits at all thrae villages by next sixmonths of tirne (subjecied to suitable land availability). 8.4. E$ablishment of libraries with weekly & monthly magazines in all three villages innext six months. A total no 200 Mini Libraries supported to the Govemment Primary6chools. Out of 200 Libraries 50 Libraries Distributed to Uppalaguptam Mandal andKatrenikona Mandal Schools (Re{: Proceedings No.822lDYSOlPlg.llZO17 Dated: 0$.0$201E).

8.5. Develop lT training C€nt€rs in each o, three villages wilh cofiiputers for organizingtraining for the youth in basic uss orthe computeE and intern€t by next 3 months.

8.6. Develop parks with gravel walking tracks of 15G200 m length, Grass, sprinklersyslem. Subjected to land availat ility this will be completed within I Months of time.

8.7 . Danelopmeril of green b€lt in the villages wilh gnaefl cover by plantirE 5,000 saplingBin next 12 months.(Already contracl awarded to local v€ndor for 2100 rvell gro\ rn fruiibearing plants and Tree Guards. Ref: Contract copy)

8.8. Proper plugging of unsuccessful drill holes and r€storation of unsuccessful well sites,as and when required and before the handing over of lhe sit€ back to land orvners.

E.9. Supporting the Distrid administration in provbion of dean drinking water to thevillages. Two RO Plants replaced in S.Yanam and one new RO plant sanctioned forChinayanam village (Ret Proceedings No.912/DYSO/F19.12018 Dated: 0$1G.2018).

8.10. Provide scholarshipe to the merito.ious students of afEcted villages (Scheme forcriteria, scholarship amount and qty will bs formalized with coordination with DA), bynext six moriths.

8.11. Cany out an assessment of infraslrudure development projects to be undertaken inthe effected villages. Survey of S. Yanam village has already canied out throughSmart Mllage Foundation of AP and sun ey of other two villages will be canied out bynext six months.

8. t2. Provision of 50 Nos of solar lights for S.Yanam, Chinayanam and Gachakayalaporavillages (R€f: Proceedings No:E78UDYSO/Plg.ll 2017 , Dated: 05.1G2018).

As we undeGtand some of ihe amount contribut€d by Rawa JV in the past years still needs tobe utilized towards the ongoing CSR poeds. We would humbly request you to have the saidun-used funds allocated to the CSR projects for which they wer6 contributed and provide uswith the funds utilization ce ificates at the earlest
