Sorry if you missed, but we had a pretty good group that attended. I enjoyed sewing on the Quilt of Valor blocks. There were enough blocks to make 4 quilts. Great Job! We turned in quite a few items for the Children’s Hospital. Thank you for everyone that took time to sew these items. Don’t forget we are making lap quilt for the cancer center in Shelbyville. Our sewing group is growing on Fridays. We are having new people to some and sew that are not in our group. I’m looking forward to the trip coming up April 28 th to Flemming County to see the barn quilts and covered bridges. I hope you can come. I hope you can come. If you have not signed up, it’s not too late. It’s going to be a great trip. Registration for the Flemming County trip has to be in no later than April 17 th . April Sew Days are Thursday, April 6 th and Saturday, April 22 nd . Tatting class will be Wednesday, April 5 th at 2pm. Hope you’ve been making your sewing machine work hard. Ha, Ha. If you have made a name tag, please bring it to the meeting to share. SECRETARY’S REPORT: Joan Beard - Secretary The Guild Board met at 6:00 PM. There weere 8 members present. Upcoming events and ideas were discussed. At 7 PM, President Evelyn Smith called the regular meeting to order. Present were twenty- nine members. Sew Alot was our guest speaker. Evelyn informed us of the passing of Joyce Cox’s husband, Delbert. Quilters’ Day Out is March 18 in Lexington. Joan Beard and Rhonda volunteered to work tables. Hannah, Rebekah and Michelle Roberts volunteered to put together our basked for the event. We collected enough items to make 3 baskets. We made 243 bookmarks for the goody bags. Evelyn asked for volunteers to help stuff the bags and to bring breakfast items. There will be a trip to Flemming County to view the Barn Quilts and Covered Bridges in April.

Hello Quilters, We had a great time at Quilters’ Day Out. Sorry if you missed, but we had a pretty
good group that attended. I enjoyed sewing on the Quilt of Valor blocks. There were enough blocks to
make 4 quilts. Great Job! We turned in quite a few items for the Children’s Hospital. Thank you for

Sharon Sims has a sewing club at school She needs ideas and buttons to teach her students
sewing techniques.
Craft Camp will be June 9-11 in Jabez.
Paul’s still has fabric at 50% off.
New Business
A motion was made by Faye Green and seconded by Betty Sutherland to take money out of
the treasury to finish eollecting enough money to pay for the water filter and the sewing
machine for Africa. A vote was taken and the motion carried.
After some discussion, a motion was made by Betty Sutherland and seconded by Dixie
Willing to serve our refreshments at the beginning of our meeting, A vote was taken and
carried.
The Annual Homemakers State Meeting will be held in Owensboro in may. We have the
opportunity to donate a finihed 12½” quilt block to be donated for auction. Money will be
donated for ovarian cancer research. The Markey Cancer Center does free screenings for all
women. (Added Note: Markey Cancer Center, 800 Rose St, Lexington, KY, 859-257-4488.)

The meeting was adjourned and the floor given to Michael from Sew A lot. He domonstrated the
Accuquilt machine and their different pattern discs.
