Mountaintop Retreat
Calimesa Seventh-day Adventist Church
Welcome to our Mountain Top Weekend ! Every year we get away to this mountain top. Every year we seek to connect with God and each other in this special time away from the busyness of life down in the valley. Every year we continue to find God faithful in meeting us in some unique and wonderful way. Sometimes it is through the words of a guest speaker, a song sung, a quiet moment outdoors, or a special conversation with an old or new friend. The great news is that God is with us! He will be with us, wanting to connect with us every moment of this retreat. May we let ourselves be with Him, and enjoy His lovingkindness and faithful presence.

Michael CardMichael Card, was born in Madison Tennessee, in 1957. Michael now lives in nearby Franklin, where he and his wife, Susan are the parents of four children and two grandchildren. He is best known for his contributions to contem-porary Christian music, typically coupling folk-style melodies and instrumen-tation with lyrics stemming from his intensive study of the Bible. Michael’s most recognized song, El Shaddai, reflects his penchant for relating difficult or obscure Old Testament concepts to more understandable themes from the New Testament. Since his recording debut in 1981, his albums have sold more than four million copies; he is also the author or co-author of 27 books. Nineteen of his songs became No. 1 singles. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Biblical studies, and has also received an honorary PhD in music and Chris-tian education from Whitfield Seminary and Philadelphia Biblical University.
Despite the success of his musical career, Michael has always maintained that it is secondary to his calling as a Bible teacher. Welcome Michael to PSR 2019.
Steve Green was born in Portland, Oregon to missionary parents and spent much of his early life with his missionary parents in Argentina. On return to the states, he attended Phoenix Christian High School. After graduating he studied music at Grand Canyon University. Then he traveled with a Christian group of musicians named Truth. It was there he met Marijean who would become his wife. They then moved to Indiana where Steve began singing as a backup for the Bill Gaither Trio. In 1980, the Gaither Vocal Band was formed and Steve sang tenor for their first two recordings. Subsequently he became part of the Christian rock band named White Heart but soon thereafter Steve was led by his brother, Randy, to a spiritual renewal in 1983. He signed a solo contract with Sparrow Records and in 1984, Steve Green Ministries was established, which continues to this date. Over his 35 plus year career of witnessing thru music, Steve has been honored as a four-time
Grammy Award nominee, and seven-time Dove award winner. He has had 13 No. 1 songs and has sold over three million albums. His recordings have included The Mission, We Believe, Where Mercy Reigns, God and God Alone. His latest album was recently released, “Hold Fast”. Steve has desired that every recording, every album would honor his Lord. Steve is bilingual and has released 7 Spanish CD’s in the US. Steve was involved with the Billy Graham Evangelist Association from the mid 1980’s onward. He was one of the first artists to be involved with Promise Keepers, and sang before 50,000 men in Boulder Co. in July 1993. He has ministered through out the world and God has richly blessed his ministry. His musical ministry has expanded to include videos, including children’s videos, and a devotional book. Steve and Marijean now reside in Atlanta, Ga. They have two children, Summer and Josiah, both of whom are married. We are so blessed to have him again for this years Mountain Top Weekend and thank him for coming.

So Blessed...our Calimesa High School Youth
Dick Tunney
Tom & Nancy Adams Tom and Nancy Adams have been living in Paradise, CA since 1997, and are now retired. They moved there from Loma Linda where Tom was Administrative Pastor of the Campus Hill Church, and Nan-cy was Charge Nurse of the G.I. Lab at the Medical Center. Tom was raised in the lovely mountain community of Paradise and Nancy was raised in Napa. After attending Rio Lindo Academy and Pacific Union College, they married in 1969. They were blessed with two sons, and are now proud grandparents of five grandchildren. Little did they realize that on that fatal morning of November 8, 2018, a morning that started peacefully like many mornings over the years, would be a day that would destroy the quiet, peaceful, beau-tiful city of Paradise and change the lives of so many. During After-glow Friday evening we will have the opportunity of Tom and Nancy Adams sharing how God has brought miracles in the face of utter chaos, devastation and sheer terror on the ridge town of Paradise.
Dick came from a working family in Ohio and from a very early age was musi-cally inclined. In the 1970’s he joined a Christian musical group called “TRUTH” . It was then he met Melodie who was raised in a Minister of Music home in Tex-as. After 18 months of touring together, Dick joined the award winning group, “THE IMPERIALS”. Six months later, Dick and Mel were married and settled in Nashville. Mel then formed the vocal group, “FIRST CALL”. In 1986, Sandy Patty hired Dick as musical director and pianist and “FIRST CALL” as her musical back-up group. The “Let There Be Praise Tour” covered 150 cities in 18 months and launched “FIRST CALL” on a tour of their own while Dick remained on tour with Sandi Patty. Two daughters were born (Whittney & Kelly) and Dick & Mel chose to now stay home from touring. In 1991, their joint recording project, “Let the Dreamers Dream” was released and soon the couple found themselves tour-
ing across America to local churches. Dick found himself recording and conducting ensembles like the London Philharmonics Orchestra, the Irish Film Orchestra and the City of Prague Philharmonic. In 2006, the First Baptist Church of Columbus, TN invited Dick and Mel to lead their worship ministry for its growing congregation. Soon thereafter, Steve Green Ministries invited Dick to tour with him as pianist & musical director which continues to this date. The Tunney’s have received 10 Dove nomina-tions and a Grammy Award for “How Excellent is Thy Name”. They have recorded 8 albums together and Dick has recorded 5 solo instrumental albums. Together they have penned more than 150 songs, many of which have been recorded by Christian artists. We welcome Dick back to Mountain Top Weekend.

Zach Parks has been a pastor at the Wasatch Hills SDA Church in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past 2 years and has a passion for speaking to youth. In his view, knowing Jesus is something that should be prac-tical and have an im-
pact on our every day lives...and that it is the farthest thing from boring. He loves reading, swimming, skiing and most of all playing music. Pastor Zach is currently at La Sierra University pursuing his Masters in Divinity. Welcome to our PSR retreat Pastor Zach.

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.Oh, it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine.I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away.
