A common thread in everything we are doing this year is our focus on the r elationships we have with our recipients, donors and Surface Navy community. We have finalized a Strategic Plan that will be implemented in July 2017. When you are funding scholarships it is easy to focus on the bottom line—the money raised. In the nonprofit world, it is often said that people don’t give to organi- zations, they give to PEOPLE. Building relationships is not only critical to our efforts to support Navy families, but also increases the size of our "family" with every new partner. We sincerely appreciate EVERY person in our ASF family: our recipients, our donors, and the Surface Navy community who stand behind us in making col- lege affordable. As we hit the halfway point of our fiscal year, we are encouraged by your response to our efforts. ASF events continue to grow: YTD they have generated almost HALF of all of our income! Our corporate sponsors are on board at the same or better levels than last year. Leidos and the Arleigh Burke Association have committed to the Administered Scholarship Program (details inside) and other corporations and organizations are considering the same. We are working closely with the commissioning committees of several new ships; as a result of these relationships, there is potential for more administered and endowed Anchor scholarships to award to Surface Navy families in the future. Join us! As this year comes to a close, make an EOY donation, pledge via the CFC (#37667), encourage your company to join our list of corporate sponsors, plan to attend one of our events in 2017 and help us increase awareness about Anchor scholarships throughout the Surface Navy. Take a look inside and see how our relationships are making a difference for Surface Navy families!

ANCHOR SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION IS “IN A RELATIONSHIP”
This fiscal year ASF has made great strides toward growing the foundation. A common thread in everything we are
doing this year is our focus on the relationships we have with our recipients, donors and Surface Navy community.
We have finalized a Strategic Plan that will be implemented in July 2017. When you are funding scholarships it is easy
to focus on the bottom line—the money raised. In the nonprofit world, it is often said that people don’t give to organi-
zations, they give to PEOPLE. Building relationships is not only cr itical to our effor ts to suppor t Navy families,
but also increases the size of our "family" with every new partner. We sincerely appreciate EVERY person in our
ASF family: our recipients, our donors, and the Surface Navy community who stand behind us in making col-
lege affordable.
As we hit the halfway point of our fiscal year, we are encouraged by your response to our efforts. ASF events continue
to grow: YTD they have generated almost HALF of all of our income! Our corporate sponsors are on board at the
same or better levels than last year. Leidos and the Arleigh Burke Association have committed to the Administered
Scholarship Program (details inside) and other corporations and organizations are considering the same. We are
working closely with the commissioning committees of several new ships; as a result of these relationships, there is
potential for more administered and endowed Anchor scholarships to award to Surface Navy families in the future.
Join us! As this year comes to a close, make an EOY donation, pledge via the CFC (#37667), encourage your
company to join our list of corporate sponsors, plan to attend one of our events in 2017 and help us increase
awareness about Anchor scholarships throughout the Surface Navy.

Combined Federal Campaign– CFC is the world's largest and most success-
ful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns
throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year.
Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the
campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-
profit organizations like ANCHOR SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
(CFC#37667).
The Universal Giving Program allows donors that have a favorite CFC-
approved charity in their hometown or another location beyond where they
currently live and work, to give to those organizations. So if you are sta-
tioned in California, you CAN pledge your support to ANCHOR SCHOL-
ARSHIP FOUNDATION (CFC#37667) even though we are based in Vir-
ginia.
Charity designations must be made by 15 December!
