TREATMENT FOR DYSLEXIA

•The only treatment for dyslexia would be educational tools to strengthen the mind

* Medication and counseling are not used to treat this disorder*

•Best thing to do is try and catch the signs early. Catching it early in a child may even prevent reading problems in the first few years of school.

DYSLEXIA CASE STUDIESName- Kristie Hoefer Disorder- dyslexia

Q. What was the hardest part of growing up and being dyslexic A. The hardest was the kids making fun of me because I couldn’t read as well as them.

Q. What did you do to make reading and writing easier on yourself?A. My parents just kept working with me. They had me read everyday

with them for at least an hour after school and just worked with me until I became comfortable with my disorder.

Q. As of today are you comfortable with your disorder. And if so what did you do to make yourself comfortable?

A. As of today yes I am very comfortable with my disorder. In the beginning my parents had me do stuff in our church to get me comfortable with talking in front of people. And also to work on my confidence they put me in dance around 4th or 5th grade. And that completely changed me and gave me more confidence than I could ever imagine.

Dates back as far as the civil war patients with a head injury suddenly lost the ability to read and write In every case they noticed that the patient had a lesion or bleeding in the brain responsible for those functions http://www.dyslexiahealth.com/dyslexia-history/
