Moving beyond simple lecture recording you can now create and engage your students with the many new interactive tools, and track their engagement and learning. Lecture Capture Policy at UWA The University has under taken a proactive approach to lecture captures as endorsed by Academic Board. All lectures in recording-enabled teaching spaces must be recorded and downloadable to students. The LCS will automatically record your lecture, if it has been scheduled in the central timetabling system. All you have to remember is to turn on your microphone and check you can hear yourself through the venue speakers. Recording and Streaming Lectures Record scheduled lectures Record and upload additional learning videos Live Streaming (coming soon) Video Management Personal Library with content search Easy to edit, publish and share recordings Group and re-order your recording pedagogically and systematically Student Learning and Engagement Make learning active before, during and after class with engagement and peer-to-peer learning tools. Student bookmarking, annotation, note-taking contextually lined to presentations and videos Interactive online discussions (anonymous or public) Real time polling embedded in live lectures and presentations Ability for student to flag confusion Analytics Improve learning outcomes and intervene early with insight into student learning behaviours using the dashboard or download all the data. Measures overall student engagement and pedagogical framework Student dashboards to assess individual’s performance and identify student at-risk Integration with LMS grade center Universal Capture Software (UCS) This software allows you to record your lectures or presentations at your desk or in the venues that do not have capability for automatic lecture capture. With UCS you can capture computer screen, audio and optionally a 'talking head' via webcam simultaneously. Recordings can be published straight to your LCS unit and or your personal “My Content” area. Copyright For most materials presented in lectures, the University has in place copyright licence arrangements that cover the recording of such materials as part of a lecture. However, there are some exceptions to this and staff are advised to check the copyright agreements before using any external material in a lecture, regardless of whether it is being recorded.
