Rep Limit: This abbreviation on our analytical reports is for: Reporting Limit (RL).
BRL: This abbreviation indicates that the analytical results were Below the Reporting Limit (BRL). MDL: The Method Detection Limit (MDL), as defined by 40 CFR Part 136, Appendix B, is the
minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99 percent confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero.
U: The compound was analyzed for, but not detected above the specified MDL. J: This indicates an estimated value. The target analyte is positively identified, but the reported
numerical result (analyte concentration) is an estimated value and the direction of the bias is unknown. The result is above the MDL, but below the RL.
B: This is used when the analyte is found in the associated method blank as well as in the sample. It
