Older analog security systems, if used alone for security, make it difficult to effectively secure facilities. Most companies need to use security systems paired with additional security personnel to adequately cover high risk security areas, which increase security budgets. Analog cameras & systems are highly prone to false alarms which can become extremely costly. They also require more maintenance for upkeep & repairs. Analog cameras provide low resolution & require proper lighting to achieve any possible detection. The cameras typically offer no analytics, poor zooming capabilities & they cover a small field of view. Analog camera systems typically use DVRs with limited space & proprietary software that cannot be integrated into other technology. Most facilities have hundreds of cameras which require a large amount of rack space to store the DVRs which are normally limited to sixteen cameras per DVR.
