Supposing you want to edit the two audio files in a stereo track
separately(e.g.: supposing an interview is recorded with a camera
microphone and a microphone attached to the interviewee and you want to
edit each of them separately) you would have to change a stereo track to
mono track. Simply, right click on the stereo track, click modify then Audio

Adding an audio cross-fade
To add a cross fade into the audio file is similar to that of adding a cross dissolve into a
video. First move the play-head to the audio transition between 2 video clips and press
shift, ctrl and d This should now appear (Circled red). If you go to the project panel
and click on the tab effects (circled blue) you will find a file called cross fade (circled
green). Click on it and you will find that you have a constant gain, constant power, andexponential fade option. For now, choose the constant power option. To edit this is
similar to editing a transition between two videos, to change the effect, you can drag
and drop the effect in replacement of the effect already applied;in fact, everything is
the same to editing a video transition- how you add, change and remove(highlight on
the effect and press delete) it.

Like a video, you can head up to the effect controls tab and edit the length and timing of it. To
change the timing, simply click on the transition effect and drag it to the placement you want it to
be.
