Origins of the IAMWS
• Work of the MWS Advisory Panel with the London Market
Joint Rig Committee (JRC)
• The need for better sharing of ideas, lessons learned,
promoting best practice and improving the industry
• Members of the JRC encouraged MWS companies to
pursue accreditation of individuals, not corporations
• IAMWS launched in January 2013
