• Case Presentations: diagnosis and Management A series of case studies relating to the lecture topics presented in interactive group settings. Cases in each topic area are presented concurrently throughout the course.
Note: The cases in each topic area are presented three times to allow you an opportunity to address as many topics as possible.
• faculty Panels Faculty panel discussions that provide an additional opportunity to have your questions answered in a moderated question-and-answer format.
• visual diagnosis A series of photos showing different health issues are made available for viewing during the course. Participants can record their diagnoses and review the diagnosis critiques posted the next day.
• Pre/Post-Course self-assessment Bonus! ABP MOC Part 2 Eligible Prior to each course, participants can view cases and answer diagnosis questions online. Information provided at the course can aid in properly diagnosing each case. Following the course, a post-course self-assessment is made available with a link to diagnosis critiques.
• “hot topics” Since course content is planned many months in advance, it is possible that new or emergent issues relevant to a course topic area may arise in the weeks and months preceding the course. Accordingly, some faculty members will be asked to begin their lecture(s) with a ten-minute discussion of hot topics, new protocols, and/or recent clinical advances in their respective subspecialties.
Continuing MediCal eduCation CReditThe American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The AAP designates each of these live activities for a maximum of 42.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Each of these activities is acceptable for a maximum of 42.0 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the AAP.
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME. Notetaking booklets will also be provided on-site for your convenience. If you choose to request a paper version of the course syllabus an additional charge of $100 will be assessed.
