– Yukon, NWT, BC, and Alberta• Includes more than 170 documents reviewed to date, with gaps and planned

activities identified by: – Federal, territorial, and provincial governments; – Indigenous governments and organizations; – Resource management boards; – NGOs; – Education and research institutions; and, – The private sector

• Documents cover a range of topics including, but not limited to: the environment, economic development, education, energy, fish and wildlife, food security, health and wellbeing, infrastructure, transportation, governance, and culture

– Further examine socio-economic determinants of health– Improve healthcare service with alternative delivery models and local/ community-based

Food security

• Common priorities– Support long-term community-based initiatives, including sustainable harvesting and local

food production– Monitor wildlife, fish and marine mammal populations and harvests, incorporating TK– For northern communities, work towards collaborative, holistic solutions, enabled by local

TK and paired with economic development strategies informed by locally identified needs and that build on community assets

– Better understand environmental, social, cultural and economic factors affecting food security from a multidisciplinary, community-based perspective, with links to regional assessments

– Support programs to increase basic health and food security related knowledge– Develop and/or improve policies to promote and support food security
