An activity I enjoy
An activity I enjoy
Why skiing?
● I was born skiing! The 1st time I tried I was just 3 years old
● The sense of freedom it gives
● I love doing physical activities while in touch with nature
● It also brought me all around Europe. In fact, I have skied in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France
Learning and Improving
In everything we do, it is important to have a strong basis before
beginning. In fact I had to train with an
instructor before being able to ski, as much as study is needed in order
to succeed at work.
Once learned, I always feel the need to improve
my personal skills. I strongly believe that we
will always have something to learn, and that's why I can't stop
doing it.
Adjust to the environment
● The respect of nature is essential
● The places visited could be enchanting
Study the environment
Being able to act in different environments is essential

Attention and safety
Inconveniences and errors are always around the corner. Keeping focused and having a “back-
up” plan in case of emergencies is of vital importance.
CompetitionI find racing really useful for my personal
development, and funny too.
It made me learn the importance of real values,
such as loyalty and fairness.
Racing helped me also in giving always my best.
Last, but not least, it taught me the importance of preparation, both physical and psychological.
Social opportunitiesSkiing is an individual sport.
However, I got in touch with many people: instructors, team-mates and other skiers.
Even if in the last few years I have skied less than I was used to, I am still in contact with many people I met while skiing, and some friends have now became instructors too!
Technology
Even technology and R&D are essential in skiing● Modern skis: carving improved handiness.
● Outfit: Gore-tex, Windstopper, crash helmets, and a radical change in style.
● ARVA: device which helps to find people under avalanches (sort of GPS).
● Avalanche airbag: rucksack which in case of need could inflate to avoid getting buried.
AmbitionWhen the slope comes to the end, the “strain”
seems to be finished...
… but I see the end as a new beginning to keep on the learning and improving process, and
essential to avoid future failures brought by past success' satisfaction.
