Each summer CATCO, in collaboration with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and Davis Performing Arts Programs, offers performing arts experiences for children ages 4-18. These acting camps bring together children from all walks of life and teach valuable experiences while developing new skills, improving self-confidence, and successfully performing on stage in front of a live audience.

Each academic year, CATCO’s artistic educators conduct 20-week residencies in underserved schools to help children “at-risk of failure in the classroom,” as defined by the Ohio Department of Education. Students learn to write, edit, rehearse, and produce a play on an academic subject that the students must master for the state achievement tests.

T H E A C T I N G C O M P A N Y

Tim Elliott (God) is a New York based actor who was last seen in Columbus taking over for Andrew Levitt in CATCO's production of Buyer and Cellar. He performed in the world premiere of Marvelous: an Illuminated Tale for the New York City Fringe Festival. He has also appeared as Sir Isaac Newton in The Physicists for Lonesome George Productions, and Kirk in Tiny Bubbles for New Directions. He essayed the role of The Narrator in Craig Wright's The Pavilion where he played no less than 17 different characters. He is thrilled to be back in Columbus, and gives special thanks to Steven C. Anderson. He dedicates his performance to Jennifer Leigh Johnson.

William Darby IV (Michael) is proud to be working with CATCO is Theatre for the first time. He previously has worked with CATCO is Kids, most recently last season's production of A Jungle Book. He has studied vocal performance at Ohio State and theater at Columbus state, preforming with a variety of theater companies throughout the city.

Ted Amore (Gabriel) a Columbus native, returned home in 1982 after serving in the U.S. Coat Guard and attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts West. Ted was cast soon after in the Players Theatre Production of Sweeny Todd and has been acting here since. Ted most recently appeared with Actors Theatre as Harpagon (the Miser) in Moliere’s The Miser and received an award for his role as Stephano in The Tempest, which was also with Actors Theatre. Steven C. Anderson (Director) is the Producing Director of CATCO is Theatre. His directing credits include Candide and Hair (OSU); Love! Valour! Compassion! and The Taste of Sunrise (CATCO): Big River and Pippin (Actors’ Theatre); A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (New Harmony Theatre); and Greater Tuna; Little Shop of Horrors; and Assassins (Players Theatre Columbus). Since taking the helm at CATCO is Theatre, the breadth of his directorial work has run from the comedy and mayhem of The 39 Steps; the sold out and revived musical Avenue Q, the American premiere of The Rubenstein Kiss, and regional premiere of My Name is Asher Lev. He is the recipient of the Ohio Theatre Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award, the Southside Settlement Arts Freedom Award, and a Certificate of Achievement from the Community Center for the Deaf. His work has been nominated six times for the prestigious Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Excellence in the Arts Award, most recently for last season’s production of Herb Brown’s The Final Table. Ralph Scott (Stage Manager) holds a BFA in Performance from Otterbein College and is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory in Chicago. Past CATCO credits include, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, Next Fall, Evie's Waltz, The Foursome and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He was last seen in The Divine Sister at The Short North Stage and The Producers at Gallery Players. Ralph has performed in numerous regional and national commercials, including Time Warner Cable, The Cleveland Cavaliers and MasterCard with Peyton Manning.

Madison Rose Wilson (Assistant Stage Manager) is a graduate of Capital University with a degree in Vocal Performance with Emphasis in Musical Theatre/Opera and a minor in Theatre Studies/Communication. She has been a part of the Columbus community theatre circle while appearing in multiple Capital University productions both in the Conservatory of Music and Communications Department. Madison most recently appeared in CATCO is Theatre’s production of The Elephant Man (Nurse Sandwich/Princess Alexandra/Pinhead) and looks forward to her future productions with CATCO is Kids. Madison is extremely honored to be a part of the CATCO family where she can share her love of art with her community.

Darin Keesing (Scenic Designer and Projections Designer) returns to CATCO after designing The Final Table and Master Class last season. Past CATCO credits include Souvenir and The Seafarer. Darin has designed scenery or lighting for CATCO is Kids, Available Light, SRO, and, most recently, Otterbein University’s production of Much Ado About Nothing. Darin has designed in Chicago, Indiana, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, and worked two seasons for The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Jarod Wilson (Lighting Designer) is originally from Colorado, but has made Columbus his new home after completing an MFA in lighting design at Ohio State. He has designed for many local companies, including Available Light, Short North Stage, Gallery Players, Opera Project Columbus, Red Herring, BalletMet, Actors’ Theatre, and many more. His design work has also been seen across the United States and internationally. Enjoy the show!

Marcia Hain (Costume Designer) has been a costumer in the Columbus area for over 30 years. She ran the costume shop for Otterbein University for 22 years and designed over 20 productions. She also taught costume construction and wardrobe. Marci is now pleased to be with CATCO and is enjoying the challenges of professional theatre. Favorite designs include Phantom (associate design), Hello Dolly, and The Drowsy Chaperone for Otterbein and Jungle Book and Peter and the Starcatcher for CATCO. She has also done freelance work for various local theatres and high schools. Marci is a graduate of the Ohio State University.

Keya Myers-Alkire (Sound Designer) has begun her 19th season as CATCO’s Master Electrician & Sound Engineer with the start of our 2015-16 Season and is grateful for all the wonderful theater in which she has been able to participate in as well as for all of the terrific theatre artists with whom she has been able to work. She has loved providing the sound designs for most of CATCO’s shows since 1997. There are really too many favorite sound designs to mention here, but the list includes Asher Lev, Steel Magnolias, The 39 Steps, The Mystery of Irma Vep, The Complete Works of Wllm. Shakespeare (abridged), A Tuna Christmas, and The Anger in Ernest and Ernestine. She would like to thank her wonderfully supportive & understanding family; her husband, David, and her son, Dean.

Joseph Wolfle, Jr. (Technical Director) After attending CCM for Technical Direction, Joe worked with the Bread and Puppet Theatre in Vermont and ran a team of Oxen in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He returned to Ohio, where he has been working as a local stagehand and being actively involved in organic farming and the local food movement. He is a member of the Righteous Mothers bicycle club, based in the Weinland Park neighborhood. He is excited to be surrounded by talented artists at work and at home.
