3.5 Desire. The vest consistsofaraschel knittedaramidclothbody and12 aramidoxfordcloth~kets whichare intendedfor storageof survivalitms (seefigure1). The vest has rescueliftstrapsand quickreleasemechanism for emergencyr~very operations.
3.6 Patterns. StandardpatternS,to be used for cuttingthe contractor’sworkingpatterns,will k furnishedby the GOvemmnt. The standardpatternsshallnot be alteredin any way and are to be used as a guidefor cuttingthecontractor’s workingpatterns. The working~tterns shallke identicaltothe standardpatterns. The patternsprovidea 3/8 inchseamallmance.
3.6.; Listof patternparts. The cmponents of the vest shallbe cut frmthe materialas specifiedin accordancewith the patternpartsindicatedbelow.
3.7.1.1Threadbreaksandendsof Sf2i3NLS.Endsof all stitchingshallkbackstitchedor overstitchednot less- 1/4inch=ept wh~ ends~turnedunderin a hemor caughtin otherseamsor stitching.Threadtensionsshallbe maintainedso thattherewillbe no loosestitchingresultinginloosebobbinor topthreador excessivelytightstitchingresultinginpuckeringof thematerialssewn. 4. QUALITYASSURANCEPROVISIONS

4.1.1 Responsibility forccm Iiance. All itms shall”meetall require-mentsof sections3 and 5. 4.1.3 Certificatesof cam liance.Whencertificatesof canpliancearesuhnitted,the Govemmnt reservesthe rightto inspectsuchitemstodeterminethevalidi~ of the certification.
4.2 Classificationof inspections. The inspction~~ ~ifiedhereinare classifiedas follows:

The Govermm treservesthe rightto excludefrm considerationfor acceptance,any materialor servicefor whichin-prccessinspectionhas indicatd nonconformance.
4.4.3 End itemvisualexamination.The end item shallbe exmined forthe defectslistedin tableIII. The lot sizeshallbe expressedin unitsofvests.The sampleunitshallbe one vest. The impsction levelshallbe IIand the acceptablequalitylevel (ZQL),expressedin ternsof clef- perhundrd units,shallbe 2.5 formjor defects,6.5 formjor and minorAccinbineddefects,and 15.0fortotal (major,minorA, a.rdminorB cabined)defects.
