Overview
• Detailed Troop Decon (DTD) involves:– Turn-in, Decon, and Reissue of troop gear
– Checking for and deconing troop MOPP gear
– Re-issuing of new MOPP gear as required
• As a member of the DTD, you will:– Monitor, identify, and handle contaminated items
– Ensure the safety of troops being deconned
– Re-issue MOPP gear and equipment to troops
…all while in full MOPP gear for extended periods
Decon Comes in 3 Levels:
• Immediate - Skin decon
- Operator spray down
• Operational- Vehicle wash down
- MOPP Gear exchange
• Thorough- Detailed troop and equipment decon (DTD, DED)
- Reduce contaminants to a negligible risk

- Good for 24 hours in a contaminated environment
- 45 day life after opening the package
- Can be laundered up to 6 times if not contaminated
- Water resistant, but not waterproof
- Old style gloves and boots still used with the JSLIST, will provide 24 hours of protection in a contaminated environment
