    About this demonstration

    I In this demonstration, the analysis procedures areperformed using IBM SPSS AMOS 21

    I AMOS is an add-on to the IBM SPSS program, which canbe activated from SPSS > Analyze > IBM SPSS AMOS.

    I The example in this demonstration uses theMediation.sav dataset.

    I Screenshots of the analysis procedures are provided, but Iwould encourage you to run the analyses yourself to followalong.

    I The concept of mediation (or indirect effect) implies acausal hypothesis where an independent variable causes adependent variable, through its effect on a mediatingvariable (Sobel, 1990).
