“As predator hunting has gained in popularity, coyotes are adapting to

the pressure,” said Jerry McPherson, owner of Montana Decoys.

“In order to be successful, hunters need to go a step further. The call gets

the coyote’s attention but the all new Miss Hoptober is the key to make

your coyote commit.”

Miss Hoptober Cotton Tail Predator Decoy By Montana Deco

Developed to fool even the most demanding eyes, the ultra realistic HD

photography on Montana Decoy’s new Miss Hoptober takes realism to

an all new level.

The simple twist-and-stake set up is a hallmark of all Montana Decoys

and the new HD Miss Hoptober fits easily in a predator vest or pack.

Measuring a scant 10×5 inches folded, the Miss Hoptober Predator

Decoy expands to 24×10 inches set up. Weighing in at a mere 7 oz means

it will go unnoticed until you stop to call.

Suggested retail for the Miss Hoptober is $19.99 and will be on dealer

shelves by February 2011.

Visit www.montanadecoy.com or call 888-332-6998 for a full list of

decoys, tips and where to find a dealer near you.

About Montana Decoy

Created in 1996 by Jerry McPherson, Montana Decoy got its start from

an average hunter trying to improve his bowhunting success. Tormented

by an uncooperative bull elk, McPherson returned to his truck, thinking

about how he could design a packable decoy without adding bulk and

weight. McPherson got inspiration from folding band saw blades. He

utilized the same twist-and-fold concept to hold open the decoy image.

Montana Decoy offers turkey, elk, whitetail, mule deer, antelope and

predator options along with a Moo Cow confidence decoy. All share the

same ease of use, light weight and ultra realistic HD photography.

Majority of State Chief Executives Now Members of Governors

Sportsmen’s Caucus

Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- The bipartisan Governors

Sportsmen’s Caucus (GSC) recently added four new members, reaching

the milestone of 29 member Governors, a majority of the 50 state chief

executives.

The GSC is modeled after the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC)

in the U.S. Congress in Washington, DC, and the 38 states sportsmen’s

caucuses that make up the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses

(NASC).

“Although this Caucus is only a year old, having a majority of

the nation’s Governors joining together in a common purpose

of protecting and advancing sportsmen’s access to resources

is a major accomplishment for our overall state program,”

said Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation President Jeff

Crane.

The GSC was launched July 17, 2009 to facilitate communication and

information exchange between participating offices in support of

legislation and regulations that promote and protect hunting, fishing and

the shooting sports. The members of the GSC work closely with their

respective state sportsmen’s caucuses in advancing sportsmen’s interests

in the states.

“The CSF State Program, including the state legislative

caucuses and the Governors has grown tremendously over

the last few years, complimenting one another and making

sure that sportsmen in their states have access to quality

habitat,” said Bethany O’Donovan, Director of CSF State

Programs.

The collective force of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, the

National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses, and the Governors

Sportsmen’s Caucus, working closely with the Congressional

Sportsmen’s Foundation, serves as an unprecedented network of pro-

sportsmen legislators and chief executives that promote and protect the

agenda of America’s hunters and anglers.

New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Below is an announced plan to

stop New Jersey’s black bear hunt by two animal rights organizations.

Readers should keep in mind as they read the plan that although the

organizations reference a recent study by Dr. Edward Tvass,

Dr. Tvass’ PhD is in physical-organic chemistry and not

wildlife management or wildlife biology.

His past works on black bears do not appear to have been subjected to

scholarly peer review, which “requires a community of experts in a

narrowly defined field, who are qualified and able to perform impartial

review. Peer review is generally considered essential to academic

quality, and used in most important scientific publications.”

The plan also states that the during the Black Bear Management Policy

Comment Period 9,287 comments were received and 6,484 (70%) were

against the hunt.

It should be noted that of the 6484 comments against the

hunt more than 3,000 were reported to have been submitted

by the Humane Society of the United States from their

membership ranks, without signatures and apparently

without the knowledge of those whose names were

submitted.

Finally, the animal rights extremists make a claim (below) that “the NJ

Division of Fish and Wildlife, in conjunction with the NJ Fish and Game

Council sabotaged, manipulated, and lied to NJ residents about black

bears to garner support for their brutal hunt.”

Readers should note that the Anti Defamation League lists the Executive

Director of one of the organizations making the claim as a press officer of

a “growing group of tested, well-spoken above ground activists who

will provide the media with information regarding actions by the

underground, along with explanations of their ideology and

philosophy.”

The ADL continues, “the press office is not limited to speaking on behalf

of the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), the nation’s most active extreme

animal rights movement. The press officers are associated with other

animal rights groups, both mainstream and more militant, like Stop

Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) and the Animal Defense League.”

Below is the message from BEAR Group and APLNJ (formerly New

Jersey Animal Rights Alliance) to stop the bear hunt:

————————————

NJ – There are Only 63 Days Left to Save Our Bears

Dear Members, Supporters and Friends,

There are Only 63 Days Left to Save Our Bears Two critical

actions to do immediately – NEW INFORMATION BELOW

Today, representatives from the Coalition to Protect New

Jersey Black Bears are meeting with Robert Martin

(Commissioner, Department of Environmental Protection)

and his chief of staff, Magdalena Padilla.

Today also marks the day when Dr. Edward Tavss’ study is

being released.

This week, we will be releasing every scandal involved with

Black Bear management in New Jersey. How the NJ

Division of Fish and Wildlife, in conjunction with the NJ Fish

and Game Council sabotaged, manipulated, and lied to NJ

residents about black bears to garner support for their

brutal hunt.

NEW INFORMATION

Dr. Ed Tavss’ Study In a study released today, Rutgers

University Professor Dr. Edward Tavss states, contrary to

what the NJ Division of Wildlife (DFW) claims, bear

nuisance complaints in New Jersey have significantly

declined. The Tavss Study took 5 months and utilized 4700

records obtained by the DFW through the Open Public

Records Act.

Dr. Tavss study is here:

http://aplnj.org/EdTavss2010Study.pdf or here:

http://savenjbears.com/EdTavsse2010Study.pdf The Press

Release is here: http://tinyurl.com/393wjqow

Please help us publicize Ed Tavss’ study. Write about this in

your letters to the editor. (See number 2 below.)

ACTIONS: The Governor Governor Christie HAS the power

to stop the bear hunt. In 2000, Governor Whitman stopped

the hunt a few days before it was due to begin. We must

remind the Governor how much support bears have in our

state. The actions below are CRITICAL! We are asking you

*123456* Lineitem #123456, tabblo #1, page 5 (5 of 19), generated 2010-10-06 02:13:22.248138 on g1t0307, dpi=225

to help us make a huge statement for bears over the coming

weeks. We MUST make bears the Number 1 issue in New

Jersey. We need your help to do this. Please forward this

alert to everyone you know.

October 4 – October 9:

1. Please call, write, fax, webmail or write Governor Christie

EVERY single day. Be polite, but firm. Do not allow them to

switch you to another department. Please let us know if you

encounter any problems.

CALL: 609-292-6000 FAX: 609-292-3454 WEBMAIL:

http://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact/ (pick

Environment, then Fish and Wildlife)

Write: Governor Christie Office of the Governor PO Box 001

Trenton, NJ 08625-0001

Talking points:

1. Please read Ed’s Tavss’ report on his study. Please read

the press release. This conclusively proves the nuisance

complaints went down, so Christie’s justification for a hunt

is unfounded. Even if nuisance complaints went up, the hunt

will NOT solve problems. Learn all you can. Time is running

out.

2. The Division of Fish and Wildlife, along with the NJ Fish

and Game Council not only sabotaged nonlethal black bear

management, but deliberately inflated the nuisance

complaints.

3. Ask the Governor to STOP the hunt. He has several

options, several ways he can do this without much political

backlash. Millions of NJ residents are against this hunt and

will be outraged and devastated if it goes through.

2. Please write a short “letter to the editor” to your local

newspaper about Dr. Ed Tavss’ study. Locate their contact

information below. Include your name, address and phone

number for verification purposes. NOTE: Everyone reads

the letters section in their local and weekly papers. We

cannot reach everyone by e-mail, so it is critical that we

keep the issue alive in the newspapers. If you have a local

paper you’d like us to include in future alerts, please send us

the contact information.

In the meantime, APLNJ and the BEAR Group’s efforts will

continue, grow and expand – as needed. Please look

forward to additional alerts, rallies planned, etc. in the

upcoming weeks. Please see below for a sampling of what

we’ve done to date, things in progress and things planned.

We are also open to suggestions and welcome input from

everyone.

appreciation up in one solid, smooth shooting, fantastic looking bow.

Say hello to the new Alpine BLUSH.

Bob Proctor, President of Alpine put it this way: “One thing

about Alpine, we listen. We had been getting more and more

requests from the females in our sport to make a bow just for

them.

They wanted a bow that would not only look awesome on the

shooting line but have the performance and accuracy needed

to win. So we went to work.

We combined all the features Alpine is known for; stand out

looks, light weight, shootability and the high-performance

every archer wants.

Alpine Archery Blush Bow - Just For The Ladies

We made it Alpine smooth and forgiving because today’s

woman wants it that way. And, because women want a

distinctive female look we offered the BLUSH in a striking

pink camo with beautiful Rosewood grip.

After all every woman wants to look good on the line and

especially when accepting the trophy. Then we added a nice

little touch to the riser, an antique finished emblem that tells

the world – ‘Because you are as good as he is’.”

The BLUSH may look terrific and shoot smooth as silk but it is all

business with a very un-lady like IBO speed of 290 fps at 27” draw length

and its all available for a bank account pleasing low, out the door price of

only $399.

Now you can afford to travel to the shoots you plan on winning.

BLUSH – Just for the ladies.

Gun Vault

San Bernardino, Ca -(Ammoland.com)- GunVault is proud to

announce that its MicroBioVault was recently honored as “Safety

Product of the Year” by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence.

The MicroBioVault’s unique, notebook-style design allows one to

securely transport a handgun or valuables. Incredibly compact and

lightweight, this safe will fit inside a briefcase or daypack and can be

quickly accessed with GunVault’s No-Eyes® keypad and biometric

fingerprint recognition technology.

“We are thrilled to receive this award from Shooting Industry,” said Mike

Baker, president of GunVault. “It’s a tremendous honor to be chosen as

this year’s best when it comes to security products from such an

esteemed group of industry leaders.”

The award was presented on July 23, 2010 during the 8th Annual

Shooting Industry Masters in Grand Island, Neb. The 500-member

academy, comprised of manufacturers, distributors and dealers

considered 114 product entries and 41 service award entries this year.

This marks the 19th year that these outstanding achievements have been

formally recognized by the academy.

The MicroBioVault uses biometrics, specifically fingerprint recognition,

to access the safe contents faster and more securely than ever before. A

high-performance algorithm is used to achieve speedy identification of

enrolled fingerprints and at the same time has a very low False Reject

Rate (FRR). The system can handle up to 60 fingerprint templates.

The MicroBioVault is constructed of tamper-proof, heavy-gauge steel

and features a soft foam interior to protect contents. The keypad triggers

a lid that not only has a high-strength lock mechanism, but also performs

reliably, time after time. Precise fittings are virtually impossible to pry

open with hand tools. Powered by four AA batteries that last one year

under normal conditions, the audio and LED low warning clearly

indicate when the batteries need to be replaced. Back-up key is also

provided for emergency access.

Visible Assets

STRATHAM, NH --(Ammoland.com)- Visible Assets, Inc.(VISIBLE™)

today announced that it has been awarded a five (5) year Indefinite

Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for a maximum of US$5

million for RuBee shot counter tags.

The contract was awarded based on Request For Proposal

N0016410RJN87 “Weapon Shot Counter” (WSC), from Naval Surface

Counter for the Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle

(SCAR)/MK16/MK 17 rifle and M4.

The WSC are intended to provide overall weapon maintenance and the

prevention of catastrophic weapon failures. An initial $637,563.00

Purchase Order was placed for RuBee Ruggedized HandHeld Readers

and RuBee shot counter tags.

VISIBLE has developed a family of shot counter tags for a variety of

weapons. These tags include highly secure two way wireless RuBee data

links, as well as, custom sensors and high gain, dynamic amplification

CMOS technology. The tags are based on several custom integrated

circuits designed by VISIBILE. These unique chip designs help reduce

advanced state machine CPU contained in the tags is capable of

providing complex real-time signal processing, waveform analysis, round

interval statistics and a programmable predictor of barrel wear based on

barrel temperature histograms. Independent test of the VISIBLE shot

counter have consistently shown a 99% or better accuracy in basic shot

counting mode.

John K. Stevens, CEO of Visible Assets, Inc. said, “This award

represents an important milestone for our company. We have

made a major investment in this technology and have worked

hard over last several years to meet the high standards set by

at Crane as a result of the award. This award will help

optimize our current weapon shot counting tag with many

additional battlefield features so we can improve safety,

reliability and performance of mission critical weapons used

by our troops”

The same shot counting tags also support full weapon visibility networks

within any armory. Armory 20/20™, the VISIBLE automated armory

system, provides real-time secure, fully automated weapons inventory,

weapons issuance check in/out with full exit/entry management and

weapons pedigree. RuBee armory networks provide high security with no

significant eavesdropping, tempest, or target risk. RuBee is the only

wireless technology that has been approved for use in secure areas within

the United States. VISIBLE offers a number of automated armory

visibility products and systems (www.rubee.com/Armory), including

SIG SAUER

EXETER, NH --(Ammoland.com)- Team SIG Captain, Max Michel,

walked away with the US IPSC National Open Division title after

competing at the 2010 US IPSC National Championship, held at the Mid-

Carolina Rifle Club near Columbia, SC on October 1 – 2, 2010.

The US IPSC Nationals, a Level III IPSC Match, serves as one of four

qualifier matches to select the US teams for the 2011 IPSC World Shoot

XVI in Greece. More than 100 competitors from across the country came

out to participate in the match, which consisted of 12 stages and ran

under IPSC rules.

Competing against 47 division competitors, Michel finished in the top

three in all twelve stages, including nine first place finishes, to help

clinch his Open title with a score of 938.8411, or 100%.

Michel is currently in the lead to not only make the U.S team, but also to

be Team Captain. He has been a member of USA since 1999, winning the

Gold Medal each time. The final team will be selected after the 2010

USPSA Nationals, in which Michel will be competing. This year they will

be held at the Desert Sportsman in Las Vegas, NV from October 8-16,

2010.

“I was unable to attend last year’s US IPSC Nationals, so this

was an important event for me. The selection process takes

your 3 highest scores of the 4 selection matches and with me

not competing last year, it put me in a hard spot with no

margin to fail,” commented Michel.

“However, I am excited to be in the lead for Team Captain

with winning the USPSA Nationals last year, as well as the

IPSC Nationals this year. I am looking forward to competing

with my peers once again in Las Vegas to determine this

year’s USPSA National Champion, as well as Team USA.”

However, as we have in the past, we will on occasion become involved at

the federal level if an individual case can be justified.

In fact, two years ago the NJOA did believe it was justified to endorse

John Adler for congress. Even though we will not be endorsing federal

candidates this year we want to be clear to outdoorsmen and

outdoorswomen that we believe Congressman Adler has done an

exceptional job representing our state’s outdoor interests in Washington,

DC. We also believe it is our obligation to recognize the efforts of

legislators we have endorsed and who work diligently on behalf of our

issues.

Therefore, out of respect to his commitment and efforts to New Jersey’s

outdoor community the officers of the NJOA feel it is appropriate to

forward a letter from Congressman Adler that is addressed to each of

you.

My personal thanks go out to Congressman Adler. I have enjoyed

working with him during the past two years and look forward to our

future joint efforts in advancing conservation and environmental

stewardship.

Sincerely,

Anthony P. Mauro, Sr

Chair

New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

Letter from Congressman Adler follows:

——————————————-

Dear Sportsman-

I am a strong and unwavering supporter of Second

Amendment and sportsmen’s rights. Sporting is a valued

pass-time, major economic contributor and to many folks in

South Jersey and the Shore-area, a way of life. In the many

“town halls” and public events I’ve had in towns like

Manahawkin, Tuckerton and Toms River, I hear regularly

about how critical it is to protect the community’s right to

fish. That is why I am rolling up my sleeves in Congress to

stand up for local hunters and fishermen.

I host a Sportsmen Advisory Board, because I am interested

in the thoughts and concerns of hunters and fishers. As a

member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, I

advocate for pro-hunting policies with members of both

sides of the aisle.

I supported the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act,

which preserves millions of acres of wilderness, establishes

new parks and monuments, and makes other down

payments for the future of sporting and hunting in our great

country. Among the most critical amendments to this bill

was one which protects the Constitutional right to bear arms

in our National Parks. It is critical that taxpayers be able to

hunt on the very land they helped finance.

I will always vote to preserve Second Amendment rights.

When the government tried to intrude on our privacy by

taking away certain weapons designed for hunting, I was

proud to stand tall with our sportsmen. I wrote the

Secretary of Homeland Security to let her know, we can

keep our country safe and free without impeding the rights

afforded to hunters and fishers. I also voted to protect the

right to bear arms in federal housing and in Puerto Rico.

Fishing has always provided a living for families at the

shore. We must work to continue this tradition. I have

introduced legislation to help clean Barnegat Bay and put

into place a plan to ensure its long-term health. My bill will

help protect a valued natural resource, as well as the $3.3

billion worth of benefits that Barnegat Bay brings to our

local economy.

As an original cosponsor of The Flexibility in Rebuilding

American Fisheries Act, I believe that more flexibility is

needed in the process so that unrealistic quotas are not

implemented to the detriment of our fishermen and New

Jersey’s shore economy. Fishery management experts state

that rebuilding requirements are too rigid and may not be

the best way to manage species in diverse environments. The

bill I sponsored can help bring some common-sense to the

way fisheries are managed. I am proud to help keep our

fishermen working.

Hunting and fishing has been a way of life for many

Americans since our great nation’s founding. I pledge to

preserve this tradition for many generations to come.

Sincerely,

John Adler

Member of Congress

RESET and Lewis Machine and Tool Company form Alliance

RIPR - Rifle Integrated Power Rail

Simi Valley, Ca. -(Ammoland.com)- RESET is pleased to announce its

alliance with Lewis Machine and Tool Company (LMT).

This alliance joins RIPR’s power and data rail’s open architecture to an

esteemed weapon and component manufacturer that has

a strong track record of providing weapons and accessories to the Special

Operations Community. The RIPR (Rifle Integrated

Power Rail) is the first working product that brings centralized power

and data transmission to the upper rail of a carbine or rifle

platform.

“We are ecstatic to be working with the LMT design and manufacturing

team. This brings to RIPR, an excellent opportunity to join

up with a high quality weapon platform. From our first meeting at Shot

Show until now, Karl Lewis has had an open mind toward the future and

sees the exciting life saving technology that this teaming can bring to our

military forces. The future of tactical weapons integrating RIPR

technology is going to be very exciting” says Galen Puccini, Chief

Operating Officer at RESET, manufacturer of RIPR.

RIPR brings significant capabilities to the future war fighter. RIPR

provides power and data transmission through a 1913- Picatinny-Nato

rail by attaching a rail with integrated power source onto existing and

future weapons. RIPR’s integrated battery pack is central, universal and

agnostic to the accessories it powers. RIPR power can be modified, and

upgraded without rebuild of the (battery centric) individual accessories

such as lasers, illuminating and thermal devices, optics, and others.

Karl Lewis, President of LMT states, “We are looking forward to LMT

designing and building platforms that can integrate RIPR technology

with “purpose built accessories”. LMT will work on designs that more

directly integrate the RIPR into the upper weapon platform, most

significantly with the fielded M-4 carbine”.

RIPR’s architecture is open to ALL weapon and accessory manufacturers

as well as supports the modernization requirements put forth by U.S.

DOD and NATO. Many of the established accessory companies in the

industry are working towards the RIPR platform, including Laser

Devices Inc. who recently teamed with RESET to provide some of the

first “purpose built “accessory devices. These devices will be powered by

RIPR’s central power pack and are designed to eliminate the individual

devices batteries and battery housing, thus reducing size and weight by

up to 40%. RIPR continues to make significant strides in helping the US

Army meet its SWAP-C (size, weight, power and cost goals).

About Reset:

For over 40 years RESET has been serving the computer,

telecommunications, medical and general electronics industries with

cost effective programs and the highest quality parts support,
