Why Chiltern Relocation likes Amersham: Easy accessibility to London with all amenities on hand coupled with the country feel. We also love Amersham Old Town with its quaint appeal and great shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Amersham is a town of two halves - Old Amersham and Amersham. Old Amersham has a wide sweeping High Street, half-timbered buildings, picturesque period cottages and a great selection of antique shops, designer clothing stores and fabulous deli’s and cafes. Old Amersham has a plentiful supply of fine restaurants and coaching inns including The Kings Arms and The Crown Hotel, both used as locations for the hit movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. There is also a weekly market on the cobbled squared market place.
Amersham, half a mile away, is known as the modern part of the town and has a busy High Street with a Little Waitrose, M&S Simply Foods, a wide range of shops and the library. This is also where the Chiltern Leisure Centre is based which boasts three swimming pools and rock climbing walls.
Amersham station in the heart of the town provides regular train and tube links into London via London Underground (the Metropolitan line) and over ground trains. Commuting times via over ground take approx. 35 minutes into Marylebone station.
Amersham has the countryside on the doorstep and is within the heart of Chiltern Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) with a huge network of walks and cycle rides on the doorstep.
