American Cartoons VS Japanese Anime America Animation in America is usually made in a hand drawn, or cel animation, style. American animation is usually portrayed in a way that appeals most to children with bright colours and childish characters. The characters are often exaggerated with body parts and proportions that are not usual or real, to make them appeal to children and appear far from reality. They are either depicted human like or over exaggerated and not human like at all. The cartoons don’t usually have details like shadows, or at least not detailed shadows, but instead simple shadows. Cartoons are usually drawn frame by frame taking it a long time to draw. They are usually drawn with a wide shot, not focusing on several camera angles as the cartoon progresses.
