AB B
BPyramid UnitsMake a total of four in the fabriccombinations
shown in theColor Guide.
From each fabric, cut thenumber of pieces using the tem-plates
indicated. For reversedpieces (Cr, Dr, Er), flip the tem-plate
printed side down on thefabric, as shown, right.
Fabric 1. A - cut 6, B - cut 4
Fabric 2. B - cut 8, C & Cr - cut4 each, D & Dr - cut 4
each
Fabric 3. A - cut 6, B - cut 2
Fabric 4. B - cut 4, D & Dr - cut 6 each, E & Er - cut 4
each
Fabric 5. B - cut 8, C & Cr - cut 2 each
Fabric 6. Cut the fabric in order as follows:Binding - 5 strips
your preferred width (up to 2½") x WOFBorder - 5 strips 21/8" x
WOFBlocks - B - cut 86, E & Er - cut 4 each. To speed cutting,
cutfour strips 2½" x WOF; each strip yields 21 B patches. Cut
theremaining pieces from the remaining yardage.
Transfer the dots from the templates to the wrong side of
thefabric patches for greater sewing accuracy.
Amber Waves Table Runner takes the simple 60° triangle to new
design heights. This lovely project features fabrics from
JinnyBeyer’s Amber Waves fabric collection and will look at home on
any table, traditional to contemporary. Suitable for
theintermediate quilter.
Step 2: Make B, E & C/D UnitsReferring to the diagrams
below, and the Color Guide for yourcolorway on page 3 or 4, make
the B, E and C/D units. Beforesewing, match and pin the patches at
the dots.
C/Dr & Cr/D Units. Make two C/Dr units using C-2 and
twousing C-5. Make two Cr/D units using Cr-2 and two using
Cr-5.
Step 3: Make Pyramid & End UnitsReferring to the diagrams
below and the Color Guides onpages 3-4, make four Pyramid Units and
two End Units. Takecare to orient all the A and B units so the
stripes run towardsthe point of the pyramid.
C CrB-1
A-3 End UnitsMake a total of two using thefabrics indicated.
Lengthwise Grain
Fabric Note: Amber Waves fabrics have a wavy stripeprinted
lengthwise. For best results, we recommendplacing the templates on
the fabric so that the grainlinearrow runs along the
stripe/lengthwise grain. This meansthat many patches will have bias
edges; take care inhandling them to avoid stretching.
In addition, when sewing patches/units together, check toensure
that the grainline is in the correct direction. It's easyto rotate
them by mistake!
Please read the entire pattern before beginning; patternassumes
basic quiltmaking knowledge. All seam allowancesare ¼-inch. Press
all seams after sewing.WOF = Width of Fabric; LOF = Length of
Fabric.
Step 1: Make Templates & Cut the FabricsMake the templates
as instructed on page 5.

Step 6: Finish the ProjectLayer the runner as follows: backing
(wrong side up), batting, quilt top (right side up). Baste the
layers together, and quilt asdesired.
When the quilting is completed, trim the backing and battingeven
with table runner edges.
Bind the quilt using the reserved Fabric 6 strips.
Step 4: Make RowsThe table runner is made from two identical
halves. Each halfis made from five different rows, plus an End
Unit.
Referring to the illustration below, the Color Guide, and
thecover image as necessary, sew the units into five rows
takingcare to orient all the units so the stripes run vertically.
Next, sew the five rows together in order.
Repeat to make a second half of the table runner.
Step 5: Complete the Table Runnera) Make Border Pieces. Use the
21/8"-wide Fabric 6 strips asfollows:• Sew together two strips to
make one measuring 80".
Repeat to make a second. From each of these pieces, cutone piece
measuring 56" and one piece measuring 13".
• From the remaining 40" strip, cut two pieces eachmeasuring
15".

c) Frame Runner. Sew a 56" Fabric 6 stripto both long sides of
the runner. Trim thestrips even with the runner.
Next, sew an End Unit to opposite ends ofthe runner, matching
the seams. Note thatthe points on the Ends Units will extendbeyond
the frame on the runner. Afterstitching and pressing, trim the
corners off.
With the Pyramid units facing, sew the two halves of therunner
together.
b) Frame End Units. Use the 13" and 15" strips to frame thetwo
End Units made in Step 3. The strips are slightly oversizedand must
be trimmed even with the unit after sewing (seediagrams,
below).
After Sewing
The points on the End Units will extendbeyond the sides of the
runner. Trim themoff after sewing.

TemplatesFor each template, trace the pattern onto
semi-transparent template plastic, transferring all the lines and
markings. Cut the templates out on the solid lines.Punch a hole at
