Follow the steps below: Step #1: Insert your main “seed” keyword in the Amazon Search Box. What is the main topic of your book in a word or two? Insert that keyword topic into amazon. You will notice several auto-suggest keywords listed. Write them down. For even more keywords add one letter after the word. For example, if I was writing a Kindle Book about camping, I would type in “camping” and I would be offered some additional keywords (see below). In order to get even more additional keywords, I can type the first letter of the alphabet after my main keyword. Using our example, I would type in “camping a” and as you can see in the picture below I am given even more keywords. Do this using A-Z. You will end up with a nice

Selecting keywords is very important. You will need 7 good keywords to add when uploading your book. You will also need 15 keyword tags to add to your main description page. Step #2: Collect a list of keywords related to your topic Place your keywords into one document. You can either pick and choose as you go through the A-Z strategy or you can use the Keyword Researcher Tool. This is our favorite keyword tool at the moment. We wrote a blog post about it here: Keyword Researcher - A New Long Tail Keyword Tool Step #3: Copy & Paste Your Keyword List the the Free Google Keyword Tool Now, we want to copy & paste our keywords into the Google Keyword Tool. This will helps us get a good idea as to the popularity of the keywords. Be sure to select the following settings when doing your search:
Only show ideas closely related to my search termsExact matchGlobal Monthly Searches [High to Low]
Step #4: Scroll through the list and select the 15 best choices for your book. Step #5: Select 7 of the best keywords above to be your Main Keywords Keyword #1: ___________________________________________________Keyword #2: ___________________________________________________Keyword #3: ___________________________________________________Keyword #4: ___________________________________________________Keyword #5: ___________________________________________________Keyword #6: ___________________________________________________Keyword #7: ___________________________________________________ We will use these keywords when uploading our Kindle book. Amazon asks us to provide 7 keywords as to what our book is about. They use these keywords when displaying your book on the Kindle Library.
