Habitat

Diet

• Kangaroos do not need lots of water. They get water from the leaves and grass.

Adaptations

• They jump fast to get away from predators.

• The pouch hides the baby from predators.

• Kangaroos use their strong tail for balancing while they jump.

EVOLUTION

• Some scientists think kangaroos evolved from opossums but other scientists think they’re their own species.

Baby

• Kangaroos are permanently pregnant. If a joey is lost or if one has grown up and left the pouch kangaroos can immediately give birth again.
