Flight disruptions are unavoidable, but how they are handled has become a key differentiator for airlines. With fewer airport staff and more self-service touchpoints, the challenge for airlines is how to rebook large numbers of passengers quickly - while complying with airline policies - and provide the best levels of service, especially to high value passengers and those with special needs.
Amadeus Passenger Recovery is a solution which analyses the impact of multiple flight disruptions on passengers, and optimises the resulting re-accomodation process.
Respond to passenger disruptions quickly and efficiently
Amadeus Passenger Recovery
Amadeus Passenger Recovery can analyse multiple flight disruptions and optimise the end-to-end transfer of passengers with greater speed and efficiency, taking into account each traveller's itinerary and his/her overall value. The solution's in-built dashboards include real-time operational events (e.g. delay and cancellation messages), making it possible to estimate the impact a disruption will have on the airline's passengers. From a single screen, airlines can handle single or multiple flight re-accommodation arrangements, as well as manage major disruptions such as a temporary hub airport closure.
Key features
Customised optimisation templatesAirlines can define several recovery templates based on their individual characteristics and policies, in order to apply and compare different optimisation strategies. This includes rebooking passengers onto other carrier flights when required. For each optimisation template, the airline can define how to balance the convenience and cost of re-accommodation for each category of passengers, based on factors such as tier level, booking class or special service requests.
Control: Simulation and manual reviewThe dynamic user interface includes a KPI dashboard, enabling airlines to review and compare different optimisation scenarios. Optimisation results can additionally be exported to Excel for further analysis.Airlines can review the proposed re-accommodation plans at itinerary and passenger level, which can also be changed manually before triggering the transfer arrangements.
PerformanceAmadeus Passenger Recovery allows airlines to centralise and automate all rebooking activities. The solution can manage situations involving more than 50 flights and 8000 passengers in about 40 minutes. This includes proposing a passenger recovery plan, manually amending the recommendations if required, rebooking passengers and checking-in them on the Departure Control System.
Full integration in Altéa_ Amadeus Passenger Recovery is fully integrated into Altéa modules, whereby Amadeus manages the
interactions across all components involved in the process: Schedule, Reservation, Inventory, Ticketing, DCS, passenger notification and other airline systems. As a result, the settings and policies defined for the airline's Re-accommodation and Disruption Transfer process are automatically incorporated.
