Colour Scheme – within The Family Rain’s videos a grain is often used over the image, this creates a darker more retro feel

This colour scheme can be seen within many Alternative

Rock music videos and is perhaps something to

consider when making our own

Often within the genre of Alternative Rock there are 2 lines of action, one of which is the performance aspect of the band

This usually involves close-up shots of the band members playing their instruments

and often lip syncing the lyrics

The second line of action often involves some form of narrative, the story, and usually relates closely to the lyrics of the song

Both lines of action are often featured but usually the narrative

is the most prevalent

Often the album covers and digi-packs focus less

on the band’s “star image” but on a more artistic representation, where as, for example

pop stars often focus on themselves (see right)
