MUSEO EXPERIMENTAL

EL ECO

International Workshop with architects and artists from Mexico, Austria and Germany and students from the Technical University Darmstadt, Technical University Graz and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Mexico City.

Sitios_08 was the first project targeted at the creation of an international network at the interface of architecture, urban research and art. The goal was to start a laboratory for public space with the support of a cross-disciplinary, international workshop. Potential areas of action were interventions in public space, transformation and / or temporary adjustment of niches, unusual or unused spaces but also landmarks in a subtle and critical manner: Realization of the usefulness of unusual sites. During two days of the workshop the team developed projects for three sites provided by the Ministry of Culture. After discussing the proposals all participants in the workshop democratically voted for a project for each of the sites and then developed the projects in detail.
