•Sometimes a lab may not turn out as your predicted. It is not the end of the world if your results do not support your hypothesis. You may learn more from getting nothing than if your experiment went exactly as planned… That’s the thrill of scientific discovery!!!

•Use extreme care with all sharp instruments such as scalpels, sharp probes, knives, etc.

•Diligently take notes during any lab activity. Your observations will be extremely important when writing your lab report and identifying any potential sources of error.

•Handle all organisms with care and respect.

•Take careful notes and document results.

•Wear approved chemical safety goggles when working with a chemical or solution, when heating substances, or when using any mechanical device.

•Report any accident, no matter how small, to your teacher immediately.

•If you get something in your eyes, ask for assistance and flush your eyes with water at the eye wash station immediately.
