2. Our story begins inAgrabah, an Arabic city filled withsecrets, mysteries, and magic.Every turn holds a surprise, everyalley contains an wonder, andevery person has a story to tell.The sorcerer Jafar, royal vizier tothe Sultan, is determined to finda way into the Cave of Wonderswhere the legendary magic lampresides. He knows that the onlyway to gain entrance is to findthe diamond in the rough. 3. Little does he knowthat the street rat Aladdin is theone hes searching for. Aladdinlives on the brink of poverty withhis monkey Abu. Its all he can doto simply survive. However, weget a glimpse of his truecharacter when he gives his onlyfood to some poor children. Heknows that hes much more thanjust a stupid thief. Meanwhile,back at the luxurious palace, theSultan and his daughter, PrincessJasmine, argue once again aboutmarriage. The Sultan pleadsJasmine to marry. Youve only got threemore days! he tells herfrantically. 4. Jasmine looks sorrowfully atRajah, her pet tiger. If I domarry, I want it to be for love,she says in one last attempt toconvince her father.The Sultan consults Jafar, hismost trusted advisor. Jafar insiststhat he needs the Sultans mysticblue diamond in order to findJasmine a suitor. In truth, he justwants the diamond to find theone who can enter the cave. Hehypnotizes the Sultan with hissnake staff to get his way. 5. That night, Jasminedecides shes fed up. I cant stayhere and have my life lived forme, she declares to Rajah. In thedark of the night, she climbs overthe castle walls and disappearsinto the marketplace.Once the sun rises,Jasmine realizes how exciting andsplendid the marketplace is. Thehustle and bustle ring in her ears,the delicious scents waft underher nose, and no one even knowsshes royalty! Spotting a poorlittle boy, she hands him anapple. Here you go, she sayswith a smile. The storekeeperglares at her menacingly. Hedemands her to pay for the fruit. 6. . Nave Jasmine just stares at himPay? The storekeepers eyesflash in intense anger. Rightbefore he chops off her arm,Aladdin jumps in and saves herwith his trickery and cunning.At Jafars secret lair, he finds outthat the diamond in the rough isreally Aladdin. Have the guardsextend an invitation to thepalace, shall we? he says cruellyto his parrot Iago. Jafar sends theguards to seize Aladdin, whomJasmine had come to really like.Jasmine is outraged and revealsher true identity to Aladdin andthe guards. 7. Then Jasmine searches out Jafar,ordering him to release Aladdin.Quick on his feet, Jafar tells herthat Aladdin has already beenbeheaded.In truth, Aladdin is in thedungeon. Hes upset for makingsuch a fool of himself in front ofthe princess.Jafar disguises himselfas an old man and convincesAladdin to come with him to theCave of Wonders (to impressyour princess, he says).As Aladdingoesthrough the Cave of Wonders, hemakes a new friend namedCarpet who shows him and Abuthe way to the lamp. 8. Unfortunately,Abucannotcontain his lust for treasure. Bytouching a jewel, he causes theCave to close up on them.Everything seems to be ruined.Aladdin, Abu, and Carpet aretrapped...but maybe the lampcould help them somehow.Aladdin rubs it, and an all-powerful Genie bursts out! Usinghis street sense, Aladdin managesto trick Genie into getting themout of the cave. While lounging on abeautiful oasis, Aladdin casuallyasks Genie what he would wishfor. Genie stops. Me? No onesever asked me that before.... Iguesswellyou see.... 9. Come on! Aladdin laughs. Tellme. Freedom. Genie looksat the ground. Aladdin looks at thelamp and tells him that hell do it;hell set Genie free. Then hemakes his first wishto becomea prince so he can marry Jasmine.He takes on a new identity asPrince Ali Ababua. Aladdin parades intoAgrabah with an extravagantdisplay. Jasmine is not impressed.She doesnt care about richesand frillsshe just wants love. 10. That night, Aladdin decides to tryand talk to Jasmine. He flies up toher balcony, but hes not assmooth as he would have hoped. Oh, go jump off abalcony! she snaps at him. Aladdin literally doesso, making a careful jump untoCarpet. Then he shows Jasminehis magic carpet and takes her ona ride around the world,managing to win her heart. WhenJasmine figures out that he andAladdin are the same person,he lies and says he was a princeall along. 11. Things seem to begoing all right...that is, until Jafararranges to have Aladdin killed.Luckily, Genie saves the day,using up Aladdins second wish. Jafar managed to getaway, but Jasmine decided tomarry Aladdin. The Sultan washappy to have a new son-in-lawand future Sultan. Aladdin storms intoJasmines room, telling her andthe Sultan that Jafar tried to killhim. Realizing that the snake staffwas controlling the Sultan, hebroke it. Guards! yelled theSultan. Arrest Jafar at once! 12. Still, Aladdin felt uneasyabout everything. He knew deep-down that he wasnt a trueprince. Later, he sadly told theGenie that he couldnt set himfree. He needed his third wish.Big mistake. IagoJafars little minion parrotsnuckinto Aladdins room to get thelamp. Jafar used it to become themost powerful sorcerer in theworld and the Sultan. He showedJasmine who Aladdin really wasjust a worthless street rat. Thenhe banished Aladdin to the endsof the earth. 13. Aladdin knew he had to go backand set things right. He tried tobe secretive and grab thelamp, but Jafar caught him. Jafartransformed himself into a snakeand battled Aladdin one-on-one.Aladdin,onceagain, used his wits to make Jafaruse his last wish to become agenie. Then our real Genie flickedhis lamp into another Cave ofWonders.Aladdin knew he couldjust wish himself to be a princeagain, but he wished the Geniefree instead.Genie, youre free. 14. This was the biggest moment inGenies life. Right before he leftfor his world travels, he huggedAladdin and told him, Youllalways be a prince to me.The Sultan realized thiswas true. Aladdin had certainlyproven himself worthy in hiseyes. He announced, From thisday forth, the princess shallmarry whomever she deemsworthy.And so, Aladdin andJasmine began their life-longadventures in a whole newworld, with a whole newlife...together.
