in Uganda Focus on improving education through engineering

5. Rewind to Findlay, OH 2009 Realized that volunteering must
be meaningful How do you make it meaningful? PASSION!!!
6. Computers for Kampala Started in 2009 Addressed the Digital

7. Fast Forward to 2015 Trips to El Salvador (2011) and India
(2012) Three trips to Uganda Received 501c3 status (2013)

10. SUN Program Electricity is very expensive in Uganda and as
a result is largely unused. AWA engineers design cost- efficient
systems for Ugandan schools Components are locally sourced in
Kampala from Solar Africa, a trusted supplier Our electrician in
Uganda installs system Goal is to electrify 50 schools by 2025. (5
schools per year)
11. Why is this important? The introduction of solar energy has
a profound effect on the quality of education and learning for
children Night classes become an option Teachers can grade papers
and prepare lessons at night Where there is power there is
development Tangible change starts by educating the young people in
