Coaches will learn how to support team leaders to:

£Describe the benefits of improved team working for service delivery£Carry out an assessment of current and potential team effectiveness£Develop a motivating team purpose or vision statement£Agree clear shared team objectives£Develop team and inter-team role clarity£Increase involvement in decision making£Establish effective communication processes and behaviours£Encourage constructive debate between team members£Develop effective inter-team and partnership working

Programme structure:Before the workshop

Two hour online review To review the research evidence and to review specific stages of the Aston Team Journey allocated by the course leader.Workshop part 1

Two day workshopTo learn about team based working and the Aston Team Journey – engaging team leaders and team members, assessing team effectiveness, understanding the journey and planning for success. Back in the organisation

Team coaches support a team through the first stages of the journeyTo consolidate understanding of the tool by guiding at least one nominated team through initial contracting, overall team assessment, confirmation of team identity and agreement of team objectives.Workshop part 2

One day supportive review workshopTo share and learn from experiences in guiding teams through the early stages of the Aston Team Journey and to take a deeper dive into the tools and activities available.

Accreditation is attained through the submission of a reflective log within six months of Workshop part 2.
