The motto of the Youth International Mission 2018, “ALL TOGETHER”, reflects the spirit of the meeting which will take place in Granada, in summer 2018. Such spirit wants to show the concern for a Church that we all build together, and that we offer to everyone, according to Jesus’ commandment to his apostles: “Go and make disciples from all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. We also want to take part together in the building of this Church, which is for everyone, which is a place where any young person can feel at home and feel the joy of community as well. Many youths will gather in this meeting, and we’ll all contribute diversity and communion to the Mission. This union is represented in our logo: a circle of persons, each one with his own characteristics (symbolized by the different colours), who don’t cover themselves, but they complement each other; that is why the colours are superimposed one onto the other. The chosen colours also represent some mainstays of the Christian experience that we young people want to live and announce. This community of young people, who will come from different nations, will meet in Granada.

The city of Granada is the best example of the Andalusian culture. One of its symbols is the eight-point star, frequently used in Arabic ornaments and assumed as the typical decoration of the city. That’s why it can be seen almost everywhere: pottery, floors, marquetry…

It s known as the Star of Solomon, and it’s a common figure that can be seen at holes and windows in la Alhambra. They were placed there by nazarite architects to let light enter through them as a prefiguration of paradise.

The star of Solomon is white, as light. And it is an emblem for the city of Granada, where all these young people will gather together, connected and linked in their search for a Church for everyone.

In the centre of the logo we find the shield of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. It wants to express the redemptorist spirituality, which is a common bond among youths, the city of Granada and the International Mission 2018. It reminds us to the given life of Christ for the salvation of the world, Good News for all people.

This youth’s missionary presence in Granada wants to be a testimony of the joyful faith that we share. Together with Mary, represented in the acronym of the redemptorist shield, the young people want to announce in the city the Good News of God’s overflowing Redemption.

The redemptorist charisma, lived in the heart of this city, turns our International Mission into an opportunity of meeting each other in diversity, of living in communion to announce to the world the joy of the faith that we have received and that we are willing to continue living all together.
