Significant Steps towards Embedding Success According to school ranking websites, KAS is now rated second overall (one point behind the 1 st placed school) in our local region for secondary school results. This is a significant result given the fact that the school has only been offering a full K‐HSC since 2010. It should be noted, however, that whilst we are performing very well in a local context, KAS is committed to the development of a learning program that will place the academic achievement of our students at a place of significance at both State and National lev‐ els. From this context, our school’s partnership with Knox Grammar and Ravenswood School for Girls provides us first‐hand with op‐ portunities to measure the program at KAS against that of schools who have already achieved a high standard of learning success at a State and National level. The involvement of our teaching staff in the inaugural Knox/Ravenswood/KAS Conference Learn‐Connect‐ Envisage has allowed for professional learning to occur in a context of rich sharing of ideas and resources and created a very positive sense of momentum within the teaching program, particularly as we head towards the implementation of the new national curricu‐ lum in 2014. Most significantly, our teachers must be acknowledged for the ongoing commitment they have shown to our student’s academic and personal growth. The learning program at our school and the success enjoyed by so many of our students is a testament to our teacher’s professionalism. Through such partnerships and professional learning, KAS contin‐ ues to embed the key elements of sustained success into our learn‐ ing program. The ultimate beneficiaries, of course, will be our stu‐ dents, for whom the future at KAS will be defined by learning suc‐ cess and the creation of pathways towards careers of their choos‐ ing. Kind Regards Rohan Deanshaw KAS Principal ENCOUNTER QUESTIONNAIRE Next week children in Grades 4, 6, 8 and 10 will participate in a questionnaire relating to the Encounter Adventist Curriculum. The information your child provides is anonymous and the questionnaire will be conducted in a regular class. Partici‐ pation in this research is voluntary.
