Aldersgate Church Wide Celebration, Saturday, November 9th in The Street, celebrating our Veterans. All Veterans & active duty personnel will be honored guests at the luncheon! Luncheon, good home cooked meal at 12:00p, followed by a musical program at 12:45p by Steven Gilb (Grandson of Virginia Gilb). Be sure and wear red, white and blue, if possible. Honor Flight attendees, please wear your t-shirts. Sign-up in the Market Place on November 3rd, 2019. All must sign-up to attend (veterans and non-veterans), or by calling the church office 432-1524. Kroger Community Rewards Program is up and going strong! We just re-ceived our quarterly check of $153.53 from our purchases made between 6-30-19 through 9-30-19. Thank you for always remembering to use your key fob or Kroger card when checking out. The dollars will automatically be placed in Aldersgate’s account. Remember, you will still get all of your discounts and coupons, and proceeds will benefit our Me-’N-U Ministry. Thank you for your support of such a great program! At the next Church Council meeting on November 17, we will be voting on how to handle our Conference Apportionments (tithe). We approved remitting the past due amount to the District and remaining current with it. The amount due to the Indiana Annual Conference has been set aside but not remitted. While we have varied opinions on the actions of the special session of the General Con-ference last February, we need to make a decision about our Conference giv-ing. All members of Aldersgate UMC present at the November 17 meeting will be given the opportunity to submit a vote. A simple majority will determine the course of action. No absentee or proxy ballots will be accepted. Ballots will be counted and the results shared before the conclusion of the meeting.

Operation Christmas Child begins today!! and runs thru Sunday, November 24, 2019. Our goal is 150 boxes. We will start collecting filled shoe boxes in the Market Place on November 10 (next Sunday) and again on the 17th and 24th with the 24th being the last day to return your boxes. Please see the Kent's in the Market Place to pick up your shoe box gift labels and boxes and have any ques-tions answered. We have boxes, but you can use your own cardboard or plastic shoe boxes.
