All for each tinonee-p.schools.nsw.edu.au Principal – Karen Austin Term 1 Week 2 8 th February, 2019 I would like to start by saying… WHAT AN AMAZING GROUP OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WE HAVE AT TINONEE PUBLIC SCHOOL! This year has started off on such a positive note. All students are settled into their new classes. Teachers are providing challenging, motivating work and the ‘feel’ of our school is extremely high. Thursday’s swimming carnival was enjoyable, to say the least! All students had a go at the races and never gave up. Their determination and spirit really shone through. The carnival was extremely well organised, thanks to Mar. Saville and all teachers and parent helpers assisted with this smooth operation. Thank you to everyone for a most enjoyable day. Scripture will be commencing next week. It is a time when students play games and sing songs, focussing on moral and religious aspects. If you do not wish your child to take part, please send in a letter to the office so we are aware of your wishes. Our first P&C meeting is on Tuesday19th February at 6.30pm. We DO need assistance from parents to have a P&C group. Meetings are for 1 hour (respectfully due to parent commitments), on the third Tuesday of each month, to enable parents and carers to take part but not be consumed with time consuming, onerous tasks. The work the P&C do is very much appreciated as it keeps our school humming with fundraising, enabling special equipment/resources to be purchased. P&C is a shared roll with the staff and students at the school. It is not left up to just a few people to do all the work. We would LOVE some new parents and carers to be involved and join us for our first meeting. Everyone is welcome, parents, carers, grandparents, friends. Please come! If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to come in and speak with me. My door is always open. Have a great week. CANTEEN

Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Safe

It has been lovely meeting some of our new Kinder students and their buddies at the Canteen counter this past week. With all this hot weather, remember Kindies that you have a free 40c icy-pole voucher in the Orientation pack you received last year! To make life a little easier this term for our Kindies, the canteen helpers will be sending any Kinder drinks ordered for lunch down to the classroom with their Lunch Basket. This is only for this term as next term it will revert to our normal method of delivery which entails children showing their lunch bag at the canteen to collect any cold food or drinks. New Product! This week the kids have been enjoying taste testing the new Sweet & Salty Popcorn which is available for $1. Normal Butter Popcorn is also available. Thank you to our team of dedicated parents & friends who have again offered to volunteer with us this year. My thanks also to the new parents that have raised their hand to be part of our dedicated team. Your help is truly valued and appreciated by myself, the school and the P & C Association.
