Members of the 31 Club agree to go to daily Mass on a particular day every month and offer that Mass for an increase of vocations to the Church. There is a great need for vocations in the Church today. One of the best ways to increase vocations is through prayer, and the greatest prayer we have is the holy sacrifice of the Mass.

Upcoming Mass commitments: Feb. 16: Dee Dee B., Kathi K., Ed Z. Feb . 17: Len & Cathy K., Helen W., Barbara W. Feb. 18: Frank G., Kathy T., Carlee Y. Feb. 19: Amber D., Chris L. Feb. 20: Debi C., Kim D., James T., Roseann G. Feb. 21: George O., Connie R., Maureen T. Feb. 22: John G., Ruth H., Sally R., Dianne Y.

If you would like to join the OLP 31 Club, please call Dave or Kathy Wayman at 454-8974. There are no dues and no meetings, only opportunities for grace and the satisfaction that comes from helping to fulfill a great need in the Church.

A Family Perspective

To experience the peace which Christ promises we must shed our grudges, jealousy and feelings of being misunderstood, unappreciated or ignored. Peace and anger don’t mix. Today’s gospel warns, if you want peace in your heart and home, get rid of your anger. Anger is too costly.

At the end of January 2014 we sent out about 2400 personal letters to all of our OLP families giving them information about their giving to the parish in 2013.

We included a green and white envelope in that letter for the 2014 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) asking that everyone contribute something to this years’ campaign. Our ideal goal would be that we hear from every family whether they can give a gift or not. Our secondary goal is to hear from 800 families which would be about 30% of families. Last year we had heard from only 550 families. Won’t you please take the time to find that envelope, return it to us with your intention to help us reach our goal of raising $60,000? Once we reach that goal we can proceed with continued plans for new carpeting in the church.

As of this printing we have heard from 194 families. Let’s hear from you this week!
