History /Development
2000 - 2005 - New public waste water plant planned for Peterhead.
- Pelagic processors costs up by a factor of 10.
2004 - 2005 - Processors meet – common issue.
- Feasibility study undertaken.
2006 - Decision to build own plant.
2007 - 2008 - Acquisition of site – construction of plant.
2008(June) - Waste water treatment commences.

• Treats/disposes of up to 400,000m3 of waste water per annum.
• Capacity of up to 300m3 per hour.
• Pipes from pelagic processors (Peterhead).
• Tankers from Macduff Shellfish (Mintlaw – 12 miles).
• Uses a Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) system.
• 2 staff - Plant Manager and assistant.
• - Commercial Manager.
• Cost £2.2m.
• Excellent example for “collaborative project”.
