The Alameda County Department of Child Support
Services (ACDCSS) is conveniently located within
the Hacienda Business Park in Pleasanton. The
office has free onsite employee parking and is
accessible by BART and public transportation.
The department has approximately 235 budgeted
positions in a variety of professional, administrative,
paraprofessional, technical, and clerical classifica-
tions. The total agency annual budget for current
fiscal year (2014-2015) is approximately 28 million
dollars.
The department’s Mission is to establish paternity,
medical and child support orders and to collect
child and spousal support payments in an efficient
and cost effective manner while maintaining the
respect and dignity of the public we serve.
The department is currently structured in several
functional silos including: Administration,
Performance, Training and Information
Technology, Pre-Order, Post-Order, Court Support,
Legal, Client Services, and Office Support which
includes a shared services Call Center.

Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, and
Union City, as well as 6 unincorporated
communities and rural areas throughout the 813
square miles of the County. The total population is
estimated to be 1.5 million as of 2010. Oakland is

The Child Support Program Manager has full sec-
ond line supervisory and management responsibil-
ity in the Alameda County Department of Child
Support Services. Incumbents of this class have
the responsibility for recommending and develop-
ing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and pri-
orities related to the program in assigned function-
al areas and are responsible for implementing
these objectives through lower level supervisors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

License: All candidates must possess a valid California State
Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
Special Requirement: A thorough background investigation,
including fingerprinting will be conducted of all candidates
who have accepted a conditional offer of employment to en-
sure they are suitable for Child Support related work. A felony
conviction will be disqualifying.
Either I:
The equivalent of two years full-time experience as
a Child Support Supervisor II, Call Center Manager
or in an equivalent or higher level class in the Ala-
meda County classified services.
The equivalent of one year of full-time experience
as a Child Support Supervisor in the Alameda
County classified services. (Non-classified service
includes Hospital Authority and the Consolidated
Courts).
Or The equivalent of four years full-time profession-
al administrative experience which includes at least
one year of first line supervisory experience (A
Bachelor’s degree with a major in business or pub-
lic administration, public relations, communica-
tions, social services field, or closely related field
may be substituted for two years of the required

The base annual salary range for the Child Support
Program Manager is from $93,995.20 to
$114,400.00 annually. The County also offers an
