Quran Sciences

1)

The Quran was completely written during the lifetime of the prophet (A), but not compiled in one book, for the following reasons:

A) the process for revelation was still on going.

B) Abrogation/confirmation was still happening, i.e the Quran was not complete.

By the death of the prophet (A), the end of the Quran was confirmed and thus the separate pieces containing the Quran were put together in one compilation by Abu Bakr (R).

2)

Surah Al-Maa’idah’ Ayah 20-26. They were kicked out of the Holy Land because they refused the command of Allah to enter the Holy Land, and so it became forbidden for them.

3)

Surah Ahzab Ayah 37. The reason of revelation was the command that Zaid ibn Haritha (R.A) was to divorce his wife Zainab bint Jahsh (R.A), followed by the command by Allah (S.W.T) for the Prophet (S.A.W) to marry her, to show and further emphasize that adoption is not permissible. (S.A.W)

4)

Three times: Before Salatul Fajr, at Noon time (time of Qailoolah), after Isha.

5)

-Don’t Laugh at someone

-Don’t spy

-Don’t ridicule

-Don’t insult

-Don’t call others offensive names

-Don’t scoff

-Don’t defame yourselves

-Avoid suspicion (negative assumptions)

6)

A) In the battle of Yamaamah, many of the huffadh who were carriers of the Quran were martyred. Hence Umar (R) deemed it important to compile the separate pieces of the Quran into one mus-haf.

Page 2: al-hidaya.orgSurah Al-An’am. It teaches Tawhid and Aqeedah. ... There is little to no fact that concretely ... but before the first sitting of tashahhud in Salatul Maghrib.al-hidaya.org/.../2014/03/Sent-Adults-Answer-Key.docx ·

B) Zaid ibn Thabit (R.A). Because he was the scribe whom the messenger (S.A.W) chose to be a fulltime scribe and Hafidh, and attended the final recitation of the Quran with the prophet (A). He was a keen minded young person known for Taqwa, scrupulousness, and justice, and other noble manners.

7)

Dream -> Well -> Aziz’s House -> Prison -> King. His father spoiled him, which is apparently good, but this caused his brothers to throw him in the well out of jealousy. This event was a tragedy, yet it caused Yusuf to live in the Aziz’s house. This event is good, yet this caused him to be trapped by the temptation of the Aziz’s wife and therefore jailed when he refused the temptation. This was an apparent tragedy, yet this caused him to be known as a explainer or dreams and he helped the king, gaining him a position of Wazeer.

8)

(There is a different narration with this story, saying that Osama Ibn Zaid was walking with his men in a city, and a man was walking with his sheep and camel, and he ran to hide them and came out back to Osama and told him Salaam. Osama killed them man and took the sheep, and the rest of the story is the same. Weak, but acceptable.

This verse is about Osama ibn Zaid (R.A) when he went to war against the Kuffar, and in the war, he was fighting one man. When Osama (R.A) was about to kill the man, he said “Laa Ilaaha illAllah” yet Osama (R.A) killed him anyways. Later, he told the story to the prophet(S.A.W), and the prophet(S.A.W) said “you killed him after he said Laa Ilaaha IllAllah?” and Osama (R.A) said “he only said It out of fear because I was going to kill him” and the prophet(S.A.W) repeated angrily what he previously said, and added “what if this Laa Ilaaha IllalAllah comes against you on the day of Judgement?” and Osama(R.A) narrated that he wished he was not a Muslim when he did what he did and had accepted Islam after this day instead.

9)

When Abu Bakr (R.A) stopped paying sadaqah to Mistah (R.A), who spoke ill of Aisha (ra) in the story of the slander, Allah (SWT) revealed this ayah.

10)

Surah Al-An’am. It teaches Tawhid and Aqeedah. The main theme of the Surah is affirming and negating the points about the Tawhid of Allah (SWT)

11)

“The later rule cancels the first. When a ruling in Shariah is changed by Allah (SWT), it does not mean the first was right or wrong, rather it was changed for a reason. The wisdom of it is mostly to bring ease in people’s lives. Example: Qiblah was Bayt Al-Maqdis initially, but was abrogated by the verse 144 in surah Al-Baqarah.

12)

Page 3: al-hidaya.orgSurah Al-An’am. It teaches Tawhid and Aqeedah. ... There is little to no fact that concretely ... but before the first sitting of tashahhud in Salatul Maghrib.al-hidaya.org/.../2014/03/Sent-Adults-Answer-Key.docx ·

Sunnah was only prohibited from being written at the early stage of Wa’hy. The reason is that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) didn’t want people to be confused between the two (Hadith and Quran).

13)

Madani: Stories of the Hypocrites, Verses with “Oh You Who Believe…”, permission for battle, longer verses, rules and regulations.

14)

The cause of revelation was that the messenger (SAW) was addressing some of the elders of Quraysh in hope of them accepting Islam, and He (SAW) felt that the poor blind person, Abdullah Ibn UmMaktoom (r.a.), wasn’t as important and he (SAW) turned away from him.

15)

Omar ibn Khattab asked the committee about the Tafsir of surah an-Nasr. They replied the general meaning that when Allah gives the Muslims victory, we should praise Allah (S.W.T). Abdullah Ibn Abbas (r.a.) replied that he understood a deeper meaning, that this was a sign that the prophet’s time was coming to an end. This proved his wisdom despite his age.

16)

Khawla Bint Tha’labah came to complain to the prophet (SAW) about the “Dhihar” of her husband. Hence this verse was revealed. Dhihar was counted as Talaq in Jaahiliyyah.

17)

Two types:

Literal translation: to translate letter by letter, word by word, to another language, such that the actual meaning of the ayah is lost. One cannot do this, and one cannot call the translation Quran. This translation is haram.

Major; owns all four characteristics of nifaq and hides his kufur in all or parts of the pillars of iman. Minor nifaq in practice is showing off but this is not itself kufur, but may lead to major nifaq. He may be showing some characteristics of nifaq but he is firm in his belief.

42)

The evidence that supports the evolutionist theory is inconclusive. There are many holes in it, gaps of millions of years that cannot be explained, and hypotheticals as to how creation began. It truly is a theory that has to look for evidence and try hard to fit it into the narrative. There is little to no fact that concretely proves the evolution theory.

As far as Islam(SWT), evidence is stated in Al Nisa (1), Al Anam (2), Al Aghraf (11,189), Al Hijr (28), Al-Hajj (5), Al Hujurat (13)

Page 7: al-hidaya.orgSurah Al-An’am. It teaches Tawhid and Aqeedah. ... There is little to no fact that concretely ... but before the first sitting of tashahhud in Salatul Maghrib.al-hidaya.org/.../2014/03/Sent-Adults-Answer-Key.docx ·

C) The first verse tells us that anyone who is not Muslim will not enter Jannah, however the second ayah tells us there are certain exceptions for those that were not sent a messenger. They will not be punished until they receive the message in one way or another. Scholars consider them “Ahl al-Fatrah”, that they will be treated as son on the day of judgment.

54) A) ‘They were turning Halal to Haram and Haram to Halal, and the people followed them in this. This is their worship to them (the Rabbis).

They then dishonored a Muslim woman and killed the man who stood up for her. They threatened the peace and security in Madniah.

59) ‘Ikrimah Ibn Abi Jahl and Harith ibn Hisham, ‘ayyash ibn Rabi’a/in a riwaya, Suhail Ibn Amr
