Akagera National Park Day Trip Itinerary & Packing List • 5am (suggested): Hotel Pickup and Departure • The driver/guide will meet you at the hotel entrance • Quick stop to pick up your packed breakfast, hot coffee and lunch. • 7:30am (approximate): Arrival at Akagera National Park • Arrive at Park Headquarters • Stretch your legs while the guide organizes entrance fees • 7:45am (approximate): Morning Game Drive • Start the morning game drive as you head north through the park. Your driver/guide will help you to see giraffes, zebras, many kinds of antelopes, hippos, warthogs and lots of birds. Lucky visitors will see elephants and lions! • Packed lunch enjoyed in bush. • 4pm (approximate): Departure • Because this is a private tour you are free to let the driver know when you are ready to return to Kigali. • 2.5 - 3 hour drive INCLUDES - Private safari vehicle and driver/guide - Park entrances fees - Packed breakfast and lunch - Credit card fees - Medical Evacuation insurance - Water - Optional: Boat ride; $40 per person PACKING LIST - Layers are essential to protect from strong sun and dust - Hat - Sun screen and bug spray - Camera - Binoculars - Passports for entrance fees - At certain times of the year there are biting flies which are attracted to blue colors.
