By following the recommended wiring & earthing procedures, your
Anzac-Avia Aircraft Warning Light becomes a Certified Air Terminal
in terms of SANS 62305-2007
Aircraft Warning Lights - High Powered LED Lamps - Tower Conversion Systems - AWL Management Systems - AWL Surge Protection
Wiring & Earthing AWL Fittings
Anzac Avia Single and Double Aircraft Warning Lamp Luminaire Wiring Diagram NB: To ensure SANS 62305 Standards, wiring instructions must be adhered to in full. We recommend using a 2.5mm² x 2 Core + Earth SWC Wiring Cable (Surfix) for Navigation Light installations, due to its shielding properties required for exposed long runs up towers. Should the contractor be instructed to install Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cable for Navigation lights, the cable's armouring must be earthed to the tower down conductor at 10M intervals to prevent earth loops. The supply cable's earth & shield MUST NOT be terminated inside the Luminaire housing and must remain floating approx. 25mm inside the housing. Connection must be made at ground level earth termination points within the power supply & control housing. Please ensure the compression gland is tight enough to keep the supply cable in place. Connect a 70mm² GREEN/YELLOW insulated earth wire crimped with a ring lug to the Stainless Steel threaded rod on the AWL Pole Mounting Bracket. Terminate the other end of the 70mm² GREEN/YELLOW insulated earth wire to the tower down conductor. Wiring colours specified are dependent on client or local specifications. Terminate luminaire incoming conductors to the luminaire isolator switch as follows: - Red to Red or Red to Brown Black to Black or Black to Blue. Switch on isolator switch, close housing, secure glass dome and safely descend.
Switch on the 48 Volt supply and validate all LED components are functional.
