Welcome to WABCO Training 2017

Our purpose: To deliver practical training that is ever improving, that technicians and mechanics can use to save time, reduce breakdowns and improve road safety.

Our difference: We train from practical experience using our own unique training technology. We show not only how a truck and / or trailer is piped, but how the brake systems actually work. Our training is completed with logical fault finding and laptop diagnostics.

COURSE 1 - Trailer Airbrakes (ABS)

Duration: 2 days

For those who work on trailers and really want to understand the braking systems, this is the course to start with.

We cover: • Valveportmarkings–thekeytounderstandingairbrakes.

• Semi-TrailerandInterlinkairbrakecircuits.

• Settings:Fromloadsensingtoairsuspensionrideheights.

• WABCOTrailerABS.Weshow:

o WABCOABSinaction,preventingaccidentsandcostlytyreflatspots.

o HowtokeepyourWABCOABSworking–workingwithpowersup-plies and wheel sensors.

o Easyhandhelddiagnosticsincludingmulti-metertraining.

• Teststationbrakereports.Areyourtrailer’sbrakesreallythatgood? Weshowteststationpassesthatshouldhavebeenfailures.Brakeefficiency is easily calculated. We show you how.

COURSE 3 - Advanced Fault Finding – All TrailersDuration: 2 daysUpgradedfor2017.SavetimeandcostbylearninghowtologicallyfaultfindSemiandDrawbarTrailerswithABSorEBSbrake systems.Only available to candidates that have successfully passed Courses1&2with75%ormore.

We Cover:• Frominsufficientbrakestobrakebinds/tyrefires• Howtoknowwhenaleakingvalveisnotafault,buta

feedback.Learnwhichvalvetochange.• Equalising–Aleakinoneplacecausesanimbalanceofpressuresthatwillmake

somevalveslooklikethey’releaking,whentheyarenot.• Incorrectsettingsthatcausesomevalvestoleak,trailerstopushthetruckoruneven/

high brake lining / tyre wear.

Whilst this is a theoretical course, we will be demonstrating some of the faults on ourfunctionaltrailerjigs.Anessentialcourseforanyonedoingbreakdowns on trailers.

COURSE 4 - Basic Airbrake – TruckDuration: 3 daysFor those that work on trucks and really want to understand truck airbrake systems, this is the course to start with.

We cover:• Valveportmarkings–thekeytounderstandingairbrakes.• Valvefunctionandsettingsincludingairdryers,4circuit

protection valves, load sensing valves and trailer control valves.• Allthecircuits,fromchargingtohandbrake,fullfunctiontofail-safes,

includingthecircuitswithspringbrakes(boosters)onthefrontsteeringaxles.• TruckABS: o What it does to avoid accidents and prevent tyre lock ups. o HowABSworksandhowtomaintainit. o InintrotoWABCOTruckABSdiagnostics.• Truck/Trailerbrakingpredominance.Whyit’simportantandhowto

measure it.

We cover:• Frominsufficientbrakestobrakebinds/tyrefires• IrregularbrakewearandJack-Knifing.• Howtodiagnosealeakingvalvefromafeedbackwithoutcostlyvalve

replacements. • Fromlongbuilduptimestocrossedcircuitdetection.• Advancedpredominance–howtocorrectlysettruck/trailerpredominance

settings.

This course is essential for anyone doing breakdowns on trucks.
