Social system is according all spheres of society and is worrying everybody.

Great Britain

• Women have a right to a pension at the age of 55 and men at 65.

• Women who leave work to have a baby have a right to ask for a maternity allowance from the government.

• There are allowances paid to elderly people.

• A wide range of other payment exists. For example, a child allowance is a small monthly payment for each child, usually paid to mothers.

• People who do not work have the right to a monthly payment, too.

• People who are disabled can receive invalidity pension.

• Widows can get payment for their husbands who died.

Russia. • Most grandparents live their independent lives and don’t feel like taking care of their grandchildren full-time.

• It’s quite rare to find elderly grandparents living together with their adult children.

• In most cases elderly parents are put into old people’s homes.

• Grandparents living close to their small grandchildren are found much more often in the countryside.

Advantages Disadvantages

Britain Health care is public (NHS)

Contribution to the national Insurance fund are made by the employee, the employer and the Government.

Benefits are available to the unemployed, the sick, the retired, the disabled, the widowed, children, single parents.

Pensions are available to people who are older than 60(women) or 65(men). The country spends only 7% on health. There is a shortage of money. There are exception to free medical care – teeth and eyes.

USA Many hospitals provide free or low-cost care.

There is a developed private health insurance system. There are medical programmers for the old and the poor. Many new techniques and technologies are introduced in the USA.

The country doesn’t provide health care for all.

There is no public health service.

RUSSIA Women get pensions at 55 and men – at 60. Pregnant women must be given easy work, and they don’t work starting with the 7th month of pregnancy. Women with children can not work but get paid for a year and a half. Pensioners can work and get full pensions. The unemployed get benefits monthly and they are helped to find work for free. The disable receive invalidity pensions.

The shortage of money greatly influences the work of the public health service.

Bad cooperation with the private sector. High cost of the private medical care. Hospitals have little money on medicines and food for the patients.

Ideal State.

In the welfare state, most benefits are available to everybody who is entitled to them and it’s very good.In the welfare state, nobody is allowed to live in poverty.

Everybody is to have proper health care and education regardless of their income.In the welfare state helps the disabled, people

who are unable to work to earn money on their own.The welfare state system

provides the elderly with an income that allows them to live some degree of dignity.

Without financial help, many people would have been reduced to begging.

Conclusions:

•During our work we noticed advantages and disadvantages of modern social system.
