PURPOSE
The 1989 COTH Spring Meeting is organized to providethe chief executive officers of COTH member institutionswith an opportunity:
• To learn about and discuss issues affecting the patientcare, educational and research, organizational, andfinancial missions of member hospitals;
• To share experiences and insights with colleagues inleadership positions at other COTH institutions;
• To receive a current overview of AAMC research, policyanalysis, and advocacy activities; and
• To meet and become acquainted with incoming memberCEO's.
The meeting will include outside and member speakers,group discussions, staff presentations, and a variety ofsocial activities.
MEETING SITE
The 1989 COTH Spring Meeting will be held at thehistoric Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California.The Del, a renowned vacation resort just recently havingcelebrated its 100th anniversary, is located directly on thebeach, providing boating and swimming opportunities.Tennis and golf are available either on site or nearby, andtransportation can easily be arranged to San Diego'smany attractions including Balboa Park, the San DiegoZoo, Old Town, and Tijuana. The hotel consists of thecelebrated main building and a newer wing completed inthe late 1970's. Convention rates for this meeting are$139.00 single/double in the main building, and $154.00single/double in the newer wing. A hotel room reserva-tion request is enclosed (lavender sheet) and should becompleted and returned directly to the hotel at yourearliest convenience; the cutoff date for the reservedroom block is April 10. This is the first time the COTHSpring Meeting has made use of a resort property andwith this in mind, the meeting has been extended one dayand provides the registrants with several blocks of freetime in which to enjoy the surrounds.
REGISTRATION
The registration fee for this meeting is $350.00 per regis-trant with an additional $150.00 for each accompanyingguest (e.g., spouse). Cancellations with a full refund willbe accepted until May 6 and must be in writing. TheCOTH Spring Meeting is organized for teaching hospitalCEO's. If you personally attend you are welcome to reg-ister an additional member of your staff or governingboard, and a second meeting registration card and hotelreservation form are enclosed for this purpose. If theCEO is unable to attend this meeting, substitutes arenot encouraged.
