India successfully test fired “Agni 5” the country’s longest range surface to surface Intercontinental Ballistic Missile [ICBM] off the coast of the eastern Odisha ,according to media report. This was the third successful test firing of the 50 tonne missile ,which has a range over 3,100 miles. The missile was reportedly launched from Wheeler Island ,about six miles off the coast of Odisha . This was the first “Canister Based” launch of the three stage missile , which has previously been tested using mobile launching vehicles. A DRDO[Defence Research Development Organisation] official reportedly said , “Agni 5” a part of the medium to intercontinental range of Agni missile series is capable of delivering a “Nuclear” warhead over a distance of 3,100 miles.

As we know today media plays a big role in our society, it informs the people and can create different thoughts to its viewers . Here also media gave mixed reaction on the launch of Agni 5, some begged India for its success while some criticised it. The media said the launch of Agni 5 missile had propelled India into “Elite Group” of nations who posses such weapon . Some said the launch was “flawless” and the missile had reached its target , with this India joins an elite nuclear club of China , Russia , France , the US and UK which already have long range missile , although with a much grater range.

The Hindu headlined “Agni v propels India into elite ICBM club “ .

the newspaper said in an editorial “ it is important that India and China start talking to each other on nuclear issue.”

The Pioneer described the launch as ‘an awesome success.’

....whatever China says , the fact remains that Agni v has rattled that country . The bare truth is that China has to now deal with India as a major player in missile technology . And its not just China but also the rest of the world which has to come terms with India’s new found status .

The Asian Age said the launch had ‘opened up options for India’ and that the ‘most remarkable thing about it is entirely indigenous.’

The Times of India said the Agni v had helped India ‘roar’ into the elite ICBM club.

India can ,however , sit at this high table only when the Agni v , which just about meets the 5,500 km ICBM benchmark, becomes fully operational after four or five respectable tests.

On the other hand , Chinas strategic experts and the official media are trying to provoke western countries saying the Agni v missile has a longer range than the India would admit , and it can hit cities in Europe.

Chinese experts said the Indian missile actually has a range of 8,000 km and not the shorter range of 5,000 km as claimed by India.

“The missile brings the whole of Asia , 70% of Europe and other regions under its strike range and puts India s selected band of countries in the world to posses the technology of intercontinental ballistic missile “ – the official Xinhua news agency said .

Another paper , Global Times , even carried a map showing Moscow , Tehran and Jakarta among cities coming within the range of Indian missile.

However we saw the role of media in this matter and they write about Agni v according to them . But whatever they said ,this is a big invention of Indian Scientists and an achievement on nuclear weapon which can help India in defence . China and Pakistan severally create pressure on India , but after the lunching of Agni v they do not underestimate India . It will give India solidity in defence and create stability of power in Asia.

Soccer is the most popular sports in this universe , played by more than 200 countries under the guidance of FIFA [ Federation Of International Football Association ] . The Ballon d’or [ Golden Ball] is an annual association football award given by FIFA to the male player considered to have performed the best in the previous year , playing either for country or club . It is awarded based on the votes from national team coaches , captains as well as journalists from around the world . Last time Cristiano Ronaldo [Portugal] , Lionel Messi [Argentina] and Manual Neuer [Germany] were nominated for the award . The Portuguese striker won the award for the third time beating the Argentine forward as well as the German sweeper keeper .

Now the question is who really deserved the award? Cristiano Ronaldo won the UEFA champions league { La Decima} ,

Copa Del Rey and UEFA Super Cup. He was scored most gals in 2014 and the leading scorer of champions league. On the other hand the German goalkeeper won the FIFA world cup as well as Bundesliga and German cup . The most important record of Neuer was the most clean sheets of 2014 and 86% save percentage in world cup, conceded only 2 goals. While the Argentine captain did not won any title in 2014 but lead his country to world cup final , scored 4 goals in the entire tournament , won Golden Ball and selected in world cup’s dream team. So it was the very tough competition for these 3 contestants but media played a prominent role ,mainly the Spanish media hugely supported Ronaldo and Messi as they play for the two Spanish giants.

On the other hand German media also begged for Neuer but they failed because the La liga is much popular than the Bundesliga and Cristiano Ronaldo severally mentioned by the most of the media either for goal scoring or advertising the underwear Cr7. As per the voting system of FIFA a large number of journalist voted for Ronaldo. All the African journalists first choice was CR7. While some media followed the legends who begged for the contestants . These are the bad effects of media but if we see this is the award of individual record means it depends on a single player not for a country . So the choice of media was right . Ronaldo won 7 Individual awards in last year while Neuer won 2 awards and Messi gets only 1. It showed that the Madrid Man got the award as a winner and media did a good for him.

Here we saw how the media treated with these contestants and the result was little bit disappointing for the German who was the first German nominated for this award since 2006. The former United man received 37.66% of total vote more than twice as many as the prince of Barca , who had only an individual award got 15.76% . The Bayern goal stopper begging 2 individual award received 15.72% , fractions less than Messi . However as an individual award Ronaldo was the perfect choice for it so he was awarded back to back 2nd time , 3rd in all.
