Enchilada Hot Dish Recipe: A Treat from our Last Meeting Prepared by Debby Bollig 1 ½ pounds of your choice of meat (i.e.: ground chicken, ground beef or shredded chicken) 1 large jar salsa 2 cups cooked rice 2 cups shredded cheese of your choice 1 packet Taco Seasoning Mix these all together in a large bowl.
Put 2 – 3 tablespoons of mixture on a flour tortilla shell. Roll 8 or 10 (whatever is in your package) and place in a baking pan. (Roll – turn up opposite sides a couple of inches, then turn and roll the enchilada) Mix 1 can enchilada sauce with any remaining filling. Pour over rolled enchiladas, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 – 50 minutes. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa.
This is the basic recipe. Can tweak it to your preference on hotness and mixture ingredients.

Greeting everyone ! I'm bringing back an old one on asparagus harvesting. Not sure who the author was on this article previously but is a good reminder.
Q: What are the "rules" on harvesting asparagus?
A: Asparagus can be harvested the third year after planting crowns, but for no more than 1 month the first year. After the third year, the spears may be harvested from their first appearance in the spring through early June. Harvest asparagus spears before tips start to fern out by either cutting or snapping. To cut a spear, run a knife (I prefer a pruning shear) into the soil at the base of the spear. Be careful not to damage tips that have not yet emerged. To snap a spear, grasp it near the base and bend it toward the ground. Remove all emerging spears during harvest since tall-growing spears suppress further spear growth. Experience will tell you when to stop harvesting, but common recommendations include stopping when the diameter of ¾ of the spears become small (less than 3/8 inch) or when the spears have been reduced to pencil-size.
Lastly, I would suggest checking on this article in from the Plant Disease Diagnostic Clinic as it does a nice job of depicting some of the current issues that are going on throughout the state. here is the link:https://pddc.wisc.edu/2019/06/07/june-june-is-bustin-out-all-over-with-plant-health-problems/

Social media, like it or not, is here to stay. MGVs have stepped up and created numerous pages and groups on Facebook to communicate about what’s going on locally and sharing horticultural information. I really appreciate these efforts and realize there have been no guidelines or policies to guide page administrators with what they should and should not do. So, it is with that point of view that I’m very gently putting it out there…. Be careful what you are posting online. I strongly suggest you use the following pages for your source material:
But, when it comes to the horticultural stuff on a MG page ensure it is
from an appropriate source.
