Aged And Hospital Care

Page 2: Aged and hospital care

Most of us want to remain independent throughout retirement and to stay in control of where and how we live. But our ability to do so may depend upon our health and physical wellbeing. As we age, some things may become harder to do on our own.

If our ability to live independently starts to decline and we need help with daily living activities such as cooking, What is Aged Care? cleaning and personal care, this where ‘aged care’ comes into play.

Aged care is the term for daily living and nursing care services provided to older Australians who either need some help at home or can no longer live independently.

Services are generally divided into two categories:

At-home services Residential care services

Aged care facilities are run by charitable organisations, church groups, state or local government, private businesses and other community-based groups.

These facilities are heavily regulated by government and regardless of who operates the facility, they must all provide full care including:

On-call staff for assistance & Meals

Basic accommodation-related services such as furnishings

Cleaning services and general laundry & Bedding

Maintenance of buildings and grounds & Nursing care.

Home Care Program is for older people who have been in hospital, but need more help to recover and time to make a decision about the best place for them to live in the longer term.

Home care may be provided either in your own home or in a 'live-in' setting. This setting can be part of an existing aged care home or health facility such as a separate wing of a hospital. You can only access home care directly from hospital.

Aged & Hospital Care

Unlike other cleaning companies, we manage the cleaning, laundry, waste management and consumable supply problems, confident in the knowledge that we have the systems in place to ensure that the standard of cleanliness and hygiene meet the standards as set out in the Aged Care Act.

We are aware that our aged care cleaning service extends beyond our specialised cleaning knowledge in these environments.

We are sensitive to the needs of the residents in this industry and recognise that their privacy and dignity are paramount concerns.

To best serve you, we hire industry-specific people to implement the appropriate aged care cleaning systems and infection control procedures, to ensure every aged care facility we clean is maintained to the highest standard. This avoids the need for internal and external cleaning and waste management services.
