Overview of AKU-IED, EA
• Established in 2006 • Is the outcome of the successes of AKU-IED,
Pakistan and the Professional Development Centre (PDC), Lead-in project in EA
• Based in Dar es Salaam but offers programmes in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya
• Registered with the Tanzanian Commission for Universities
Goal
To contribute to improving the quality of education in the region by creating a scholarly centre of excellence in teacher education and professional development in Sub-Saharan Africa
